Why don't we go for Stirling, probably not a shot of getting him but, might get him on the cheap and if he wants to play regularly why not us? Can't see any of top 6 clubs going for him. SR/RM - be brave and have a go, he is a class act. We really do need a Keeper too or we r bang in trouble, Johnstone is a good keeper, wants to leave Palace so if Ramsdale to Wolves (puzzling why though as Sa is class!) is going through then Johnstone is a must surely?!

I have been told that Saints are looking long and hard at Sverre Nypan of Rosenberg. The Norwegians want 14 million euros for him. He scored a hatrick last night and is very highly rated.

Do we still have money to spend?

Saints were saying they needed to sell before they bought. I think you said we probably had 12m to spend.

Since then we have 10m in for Mara, have spent 30m on Archer and Fernandes, potentially 10m lined up on Bijlow and now maybe more.

Sounds like we are very confident on 20m in from ABK and Onuachu to balance the books, KWP or Alcaraz may be off (hope not) or there was more money available than thought.

Alcaraz and ABK will cover what’s been spent. Alcaraz is a free spirit not suited to arms regimented system.

Alcaraz is currently the 2nd highest PL goal scorer per game in the squad, so it seems a big risk to sell him but point taken on the system adherence.

Transfer update.

Ox has now agreed a deal elsewhere.

Ramsdale is weighing up options. Wolves most likely due to manager links. Saints offering an attractive loan deal but waiting till deadline day to make their move. Szczęsny has also been discussed as a 1 season interim.

JWP is interesting. Not on our current list, but watch this space. If a deal can be struck we will go for it. Loan option most likely on deadline day. Bournemouth have also registered an interest.

Saints also in for another promising young winger Fernandez-Pardo. Lots of noise but no official offer as of yet.

Szczesny is a fabulous goalkeeper and out of contract. Arsenal must have another keeper lined up if they are going to let Ramsdale leave, doesn’t add up otherwise. Fernandes signing smacks of Sports Republic decision not the manager or scouting team, our profile of signings in the last 12 months clearly reflects my summation. Fernandes is the first player we’ve signed since RM was manager that has no football experience in the UK with the exception of Sugawara, Japanese players have a professional mindset and are not mercenaries. If Wolves do sign Ramsdale then Sa is a very good keeper to consider, he won’t want to be No2 at Wolves. Archer was bought as cover for Armstrong and will score goals given time, Hope Stewart is fit soon. ?

There is no intel re signing another striker. I think a lot will depend on whether Onaucha stays and Stewart is genuinely close to full fitness. Keeper appears to be main focal point atm.

Just saying that £15M (Archer) plus £15M (Fernandes) = £30m (Ramsdale)

Reading we are now after Lesley Ugochukwu on loan from Chelsea. A 20 year old French number 6 worth over 20m. Could be a Lavia alternative. If we do go 4 2 3 1 or Downes is injured we need another DM, so this sounds interesting.

Also reading we are after striker Cameron Archer from Villa, who was on loan to Sheffield United last season. Only scored 4 goals there but he is young and improving. Not sure about this one.

Seems there is interest in Alcaraz, Mara and ABK All newspaper reports so take with a pinch of salt.

Ugochukwu looks like a very good addition to the squad. I saw him a few times last season with Chelsea and he looks like someone that will make a big contribution. I've got to say the pursuit of Cameron Archer worries me. Looks like he could be another Carrillo, Mara, Sulemana etc. I know he's young but it's not what we need right now - a 50/50 (at best) punt that we're more likely to attempt offloading for a massive loss, as turn him into an EPL standout player.

It's a massive risk and with some money coming in from the sales of ABK, Alcaraz and maybe Mara now, I think we could invest in someone with a greater chance of success even if they would cost maybe 10M more - Eddie Nketiah springs to mind. A big few weeks coming up for RM and Saints.

Archer is a very good player reminiscent of Jermaine Defoe, a permanent deal is potentially very exciting. Ugochukwa is a surprise but definitely puts to bed Broja/Lavia loan deals. Both deals had been kept very quiet, still need a keeper and attacking midfielder.

I like the Archer move a lot. But what's up with Ipswich landing all the players we've been after as well? Delap, Johnson, now Broja?

Bringing in Archer *and* Broja on loan and sending Mara out for a year to play every day in Ligue 1 would have been great. Then bring in Johnstone and loan a winger for when we go 4-3-3 and find a cheap backup 6. That would realistically solve our problems without breaking PSR.
