RM needs to make a decision on Jack Stephens and remove the captaincy from him. I have always felt that given a run of games Stephens settles in but we don't need him at the moment and can't risk giving him cameos like yesterday as that could have back fired. Would he have come on if he wasn't captain, I think not. So strip him of the captaincy and keep him on the bench PLEASE.

Talk sport radio have said that the club is willing to listen to offers around £20 million for Che Adams, can only hope this is because we have someone coming in and he wants game time, Otherwise seems risky if we are trying to sell him to free up funds to replace him with only a couple of days to get deals done.

Che Adams is one of the most intelligent footballers I’ve seen. reminds me of Ricky lambert but without the finishing . would be gutted to see him leave
2.) 31 Jan 2023 11:24:08
There is no way we will sell him unless we already have a replcement
3.) 31 Jan 2023 12:23:10
What has happened to our usual transfer philosophy. We’ve never been one for last minute chasing around and panic buys? We normally do business in good time . apart from a striker of course.
Che must stay
04 Jan 2023 20:29:03
Listening to the first half and I don't see how Nathan Jones can stay. How can we still have no clear way of playing. He's had his chance let's admit he's not up to it and move on. If we do go down how much will Lavia, tino, Bella be worth then, not as much as if we stay up and they will all want to jump ship. If big Sam still wants to manage give it to him a few shroud signings and we might survive.

Joe needs to be benched so many passes going backwards sideways also slows the play down all I can think is the players have downed tools and there is a bigger problem in the dressing room than we know about

Are Crystal Palace about to get their pants well and truly pulled down. Selling Eze a proven premier league player with international experience for somewhere around the 60 million mark. Then purchasing Tyler Dibling a player who had five or six decent games in a poor side, so would always stand out, for around 40 million.I have said before I saw a lot of him in the u21s and he never stood out and I don't see the same player that everyone thinks we are selling. Take the money and run.
1.) 19 Aug 2025 19:41:04
Totally agree. IMO young Robinson is a far better prospect.
2.) 20 Aug 2025 09:14:36
Hopefully he has a better attitude as well. Dibling thought he was better than the club and went off to Chelsea then in a matter of months came back with his tail between his legs. Then the first opportunity he gets he wants out again. If I was a manager of a club I would seriously look into his mindset.
3.) 20 Aug 2025 10:50:14
He wears all the hallmarks of a sullen teenager who sulks when they don’t get exactly what they want when they want.
I think he’s trying to emulate the Cole Palmer of Chelsea so called ‘cool’ demeanour. Trouble is, Dibling hasn’t earned the right.

Just reading the report on today's match. So that's 3 mistakes leading to goals in two matches by Jack Stephens. Up until last season I have tried to back him but he needs to move on know for the good of himself his family and the club. We have an abundance of centre backs so it wouldn't be a loss.

Putting a positive spin on the season. If someone had told me at the beginning of the season we would finish 4-5 places below Man u and Spurs I'd have snapped their hand off!
1.) 13 May 2025 15:53:18
Me too Saint Kenny.
To show how big the gap is between bottom three clubs and the others, how about this for a stat - Brentford, Brighton Forest and Bournemouth have each got roughly as many points as Saints, Ipswich and Leicester combined.

So I put this out last time we were relegated but are the richis of the premier League really worth it? Last season there was hope and anticipation before nearly every game this season despair and heart ache before the whistle is even blown. Although it's the championship it's still Southampton FC and I would much rather support and enjoy my weekend than watch us struggle week in week out.
1.) 10 May 2025 14:10:40
It’s an interesting debate for sure. I suspect most fans enjoyed the triumphs of last season over the despair of this season but where does that end.
What about if we struggle in the Championship? Would we apply the same mindset and prefer the inferior quality of League 1.
My honest answer is I am glad that we won’t have to endure another season of PL misery so logically that would mean I am happier to be in the Championship.
My worry is that next season will be another year of underperformance.
2.) 10 May 2025 17:31:06
Boys played well to earn a draw and take us past the infamous 11 points: That was better and against City: promising shoots at last
3.) 10 May 2025 22:38:13
I think they battled well and credit to them.
But if I looked at it objectively, we offered nothing up front and barring a fluke, we were never going to win it. City weren’t on it and we played with passion.
All in all, a good afternoon’s work - but let’s not get too carried away.
The best part of today was it gave us beleaguered Saints fans a modicum of pride (and I haven’t said that in a while!
4.) 10 May 2025 23:13:22
Be very interesting to see how Leeds perform in the prem, after another year in the Championship.
I would take a good exodus from the prem, if meant we rebuilt like the Cortese years.
5.) 12 May 2025 06:32:25
Now that Frank Lampard has shown his hand (sorry Millertime) -providing Coventry City do not advance from the second leg tomorrow, he will surely be installed as short. Priced favourite for Southampton fc Manager position closely followed by two wildcards Eric Ramsay and Will Still. Decisions may be forthcoming within the next week ( hopefully)! KOM.
6.) 12 May 2025 17:03:33
As I have already said, No decisions will be made until we are a Championship team.
7.) 13 May 2025 00:43:47
“YES SIR”.

Maybe a bit controversial but the area I think we really lack in is a midfielder to do the dirty work. Fernandes and Airibo are both better further up the pitch. Downes has not kicked on, he was superb last year and I thought a real coup getting him back, but I am not sure anymore. The change in tactics has shown we can be a threat. We just let the midfield get the wrong side of us to often. But I do believe we will start to pick up points as a confidence booster for what ever comes next season.
29 Aug 2024 17:50:34
Sky sports reporting Yuri highly unlikely now. As for Jwp perfect fit for our pass sideways and backwards style. Should be great counting how many passes we make before the opposition score! Jwp not for me. And as long as Stephens plays it doesn't matter who we have in goal.
20 Sep 2023 07:35:07
Never thought I would say this but Neil Warnock has his last game in charge of Huddersfield tonight, and has says he's not retiring yet. He ticks all the boxes you have mentioned.
19 Aug 2023 20:06:56
The downside was proved last year. If we keep buying youngsters with no leadership the team will not flourish. As for the u21 players you mentioned, I went and watched the u21 Vs villa u21 last night and it was not a great advertisement for football at that level.
15 Aug 2023 21:30:39
I feel until we get a solid CDM and goal keeper in, it really doesn't matter who our center backs are. At the moment they have no protection in front of them and very little behind them.
28 Jan 2023 23:28:24
1 goal and 2 assists in 17 games. Sounds ready made for us!
20 Aug 2025 09:14:36
Hopefully he has a better attitude as well. Dibling thought he was better than the club and went off to Chelsea then in a matter of months came back with his tail between his legs. I would have liked us to have gotten Martin Dubravka included in the Ramsdale deal either a permanent signing or a loan for a year. Then at the end of the season move him and McCarthy on. See what division we are in and get a keeper who will suit which ever league we are in.
03 Aug 2025 15:39:44
I did wonder weather he wants his player's to drop their ego as he's worried they might be bigger than his! As the saying goes "there's nothing wrong with making a mistake just don't make the same mistake twice". Oh well that's that then
22 Jul 2025 06:35:36
With your friends inside knowledge do you have any info on transfers in and outs? If you look at the present squad it is pretty much the same as our promotion one, but hopefully with better management and the addition of Charles, Fernandes and possibly Ramsdale.
27 May 2025 11:41:14
Our center forwards are all capable of scoring in the championship. So the question is do we stick with what we have for the championship and see their price increase with a good season and sell to buy two premier League ready strikers or sell now buy someone how might be premier League ready in a year but would probably be sold for a profit before we get there?
