Bye Bye Ralph at the end of the day your system is not working so come on saints do the right thing and get rid for a fresh start next season, and please take Long, Redmond, Walcott and McCarthy with you

I am sure all saints fans wish Tino a speedy recovery, he has been one of the bright spots in an underwhelming season, the big question now must surely be will JWP stay with saints or see his future elsewhere, whilst as again I would love him to stay if he does then he could possibly regret not try to get to the very top level ., Moving on does not always work out well and in the past players like Matt le tissier have probably benefitted from staying loyal and becoming club legends .It will be interesting to see where we are at the end of the season and what delights the transfer window may hold

So Forster will leave in the Summer. He’s done his best (although he must have felt at times like facing a firing squad behind our comical central defenders.I hope that SFC haven’t dropped the ball again in extending McCarthy’s contract as he is only regarded as backup.Congratulations to Eddie Howe and.his Coaches for achieving the turnaround at Newcastle Utd and rescuing them from almost certain relegation to halfway up the Premiership to safety in the short term since he took over in the relative short term since November while Southampton FC have continued to plummet in the opposite direction. We know that Eddie waited patiently.in the wings awaiting his dream job managing the Saints but despite very average results he was overlooked in favour of continuing with Ralph HASSENHUTTL.I cannot help but wonder if this will prove to be a fatal mistake by the Club especially. at this late stage of the season (with nothing to lose)when Ralph leaves deserving young players on the bench in favour of much older players who havan’t performed in addition to those who have noticeably lost half a yard in pace.We understand that not much can be done about the Central Defence until Summer transfers but Ralph STILL apparently does not know his best team to date regularly changing and fiddling ( like Nero) with team selection while the Club burns!

Well that was a very disappointing performance yesterday, we were well and truly second best for the whole 90 minutes, whilst I realise that anyone can have an off day for so many players to do so at the same time is surprising. Was the reason overconfidence or missing two key players in Salisu and Walker Peters. We appeared too be out thought and outfort a combination that was never going to end well, hopefully Ralph has the remedy in mind before the next game as it would be sad to see the seasons efforts fizzle out now

Great performance against a spurs side who are arrogant and not as good as they think they are .I believe we would have won at home as well had we not had a sending off. Hopefully we can play the same against a somewhat indifferent man utd, and if we can have the same passion then we have a good chance of making it a memorable week

Wow what a great point a real backs to the wall performance credit to all the players and I am the first to admit that Ralph got it right, it also helps to have a goalkeeper that looks the part and I hope that he keeps his place for the rest off the season

Great point In the circumstances Norfolk Saint and a real tonic as we set up for Newcastle (Covid permitting).

However, not so sure on your assessment of Forster! He’s just as likely to cost us the game as he is win us the game. One top drawer save and one absolute howler which was fortuitously disallowed by Mr Taylor.

Hopefully, with a run of games his confidence and form will return but we desperately need a new GK.

Well that sums up where we are at lost to a virtual Liverpool reserve side whilst being totally outplayed .Where is the passion, I realise that we were already safe from relegation but surely that should have allowed us too have a real go .All we managed was four shots in ninety minutes compared to their twenty four .As supporters we can only wait to see what the summer brings but right now we are miles away from the top teams as Nd unless things are sorted out next season will not go well

Redmond once again back in favour, so much so he played him left back!

To quote my Liverpool mate ‘disappointed with saints, they didn’t even try’ …

Regarding the goalkeeper situation if FF is leaving who are we having as our number one, I recently heard a rumour that McCarthy is being offered a new three year deal this is crazy in the extreme as he has repeatedly shown that he is not capable of holding down this position, my view is that we need to urgently upgrade this position but as we all know a keeper is only as good as his defence and this also needs improvement

Hopefully he is being kept on as back up as a cheaper alternative to Forster. It is logically implausible that the hierarchy see that McCarthy has been dropped for Forster yet is the one of the two kept on when both are out of contract. It must only mean that he is there as #2 and Forster would be too expensive in that role.

Dragowski, Henderson, Johnstone, Strakosha (a name I mentioned a looong while ago) are the main names we are being linked to. Dragowski is young and as a Pole maybe Jan could get him onside, though Strakosha, an Albanian, may be a more difficult buy for a Serbian-owned club.

Henderson and Johnstone will probably take massive wages to sit on the bench of a top 6 club as opposed to being a PL first team regular. But any of those four would be a good signing in my opinion.

As I write I have had a thought. Since we were bought out by Dragan, Broja has scored twice in 5 months, I’m sure I’m reading too much into it but is that an Albanian protesting against our new owners? Probably not, Dragan hates his country’s regime. Anyway I’m rambling.

I agree with millertime and I can no longer have any hope that Ralph has the ability to turn the club round, this season promised much at one stage and has deteriorated to a shambles with a defence that let's in far too many goals and a completely ineffective attack, this has been obvious on many occasions such as the defeat at Carrow road and also at Burnley.

Our home form has also disappeared with defeats to teams that we should be beating at home, I hope that the owners do the right thing and move to appoint a new manager with fresh ideas that can get us moving forward, in closing can anyone explain why the production line of talent has also dried up

Has anybody else noticed that after this weekends wins for Everton and Burnley we are no longer as safe as we thought we were, it's time to get our game face on and put the necessary points on the board

Another poor performance against a team that needs the points far more than us . please don't play Broja again if he is not joining us then we need to see what others can do .once again our finishing was very poor with Romeo missing with two free headers and Adams putting the ball straight at the keeper, whilst at the same time Forster made some crucial saves, all in all a worrying performance against a team that had previously only won four games all season, where do we go from here I don't know but those in charge need to sort it out pronto

1.) 21 Apr 2022 22:49:47
Yes Ralph needed to play 5 across the back against Arsenal, to stop the rot.
But to play 5 across the back and one upfront against Burnley, made absolutely no sense?
Broja definitely plays better alongside another attacker.
Another game to add to the Ralph Strange Decisions book

2.) 22 Apr 2022 11:35:09
Worst performance I’ve seen for ages no bite Burnley were physical apart from nice guy Jan no bite anywhere. Valery/stu/moi all poor. Assume Borja is playing so bad to get his price down. If he isn’t staying give Armstrong a run up top and find his feet. Adam’s and surprisingly Redmond positives when introduced

3.) 22 Apr 2022 12:13:52
It’s really to work out what was up with the team last night.
Even the reliable Stu was giving the ball away and getting caught in possession, Moi not much better.

Ralph doesn’t seem to be able to spot the simplest of problems. We played three at the back? He pushed his wingbacks up very high, which works if you don’t lose the ball.
But we had one up front, Stu and Moi pushing up, even JWP playing higher . they all constantly lost the ball high up.
That exposed the three CB’s as only Romeu was staying deep - although he was often pushing up?
So Ralph think our 3 CBs were enough to cope with Burnley’s attacks, more like raids!
Playing this way only works if you don’t lose the ball, we lost the ball repeatedly!
Also I noticed that Stu and Moi were not combining with the wingbacks
Perraud and KWP would be in possession and were literally looking around for someone to pass to?

Bizarre . Even more bizarre was that Ralph didn’t change it at half-time because he said something like, I showed them where the spaces were and was giving them 15 minutes .
You could show them as much as you like where the spaces are, they were losing the ball everywhere.
The wingbacks were not being supported as they normally are …
The formation was wrong…
The system was wrong…

I agree with south hants Rich although I think we could have used five subs with it being a cup game,l wish we had started with Che Adams instead of Adam Armstrong, not sure about Broja he seems to have lost his spark at the moment, happens a lot with young players who start to believe all the publicity around them

Totalling agree Hopi back to winning ways next week, also a good looking cup draw it would be great to have a decent cup run this season.
