Apparently they are thinking of replacing Hughes with Kelvin Davis.
Not sure if this is a good thing or not.

1.) 28 Nov 2018 10:47:53
He couldn't do any worse and he always gives 100%. Whoever is in charge needs money to spend in January. I just can't see the present squad getting us out of the mess we're in. The whole squad looks unfit and lacking confidence.

2.) 29 Nov 2018 10:00:54
Unfit is a disgrace all you do all day is train and play how can you be unfit. Hence mist fans issues with Charlie Austin. You have been a pro for years and can’t last 90m how? The squad is good enough just need to get an 11 and play them constant changing is ridiculous seems not mine game and dropped 2 later puck a squad and stick to it barring injuries.

We have signed Angus Gunn! Great keeper with loads of potential. Hopefully means that Forster is out. Gunn will provide good competition for McCarthy. The transfer window continues to get better!

26 Jun 2018 17:49:26
Well we now have our first signing in Stuart Armstong! As stated on a previous post, our past record with Celtic players has been really good, so things are looking up! There has also been increased rumours of signing Mohamed Elyounoussi, which I presume is the Tadic replcement. What are everyone else's thoughts on Armstrong.

1.) 26 Jun 2018 18:26:33
Think we are going to be very pleasantly surprised. Don't focus on the £7 million, if you look at some of the best Saints buys - Ricky Lambert £1 million from Bristol - Steve Davis next to nothing - McCarthy cheap as chips, Romeu £4 million all earn their corn.
Mercenaries (and there are plenty of them) don't have the work ethic it seems.
We do need a good striker - I see we are looking at Danny Ings, ok, he was injured but he could still give us 3-4 good years, he was quality and can be again.
Great season awaits those who are positive!

2.) 26 Jun 2018 19:20:41
Lets see what Armstrong offers to the team! 😊.

09 Jun 2018 13:56:41
Apparently Saints are renewing their interest in Barcelona outcast Paco Alcacer! This would be awesome if we could sign him. He would bring some serious attacking quality to the club. It seems that not many clubs are trying to sign him either.

1.) 09 Jun 2018 17:22:34
I'm not convinced by this personally. I don't think an out and out striker should be our biggest priority. We need creative players much more than strikers, so I'd prefer Sisto or Promes.

Can understand people disagree though given our poor shot conversion last year.

2.) 10 Jun 2018 09:21:42
Perhaps I should have added that half our strikers need to go as well.

3.) 10 Jun 2018 12:36:26
I do understand what your saying 123, But He was prolific before He joined Barca', I just have a feeling 'Gabbi' will come good under MH, Sell on Long (great work ethic, but that's it) . Austin (if he can stay Fit), Gabbi, Alcacer and keep Sam Gallagher as forward options wouldn't be too shabby!
We All know, we created plenty of chances last season, We just couldn't finish, But with competition like that up Front!?

4.) 10 Jun 2018 18:59:54
Yeah I can see why people disagree, but although the stats say we were missing chances, watching the games it never felt like we had the creativity. Don't quote me on this, but I wonder how many of these 'missed chances' were genuine chances and how many were half chances. I never got the impression, throughout the whole season, that we had any creativity. Each game felt like an anaemic performance without any spark, rather than a missed opportunity where our finishing let us down.

But as I say, I realise the stats tell a different story.

I wouldn't say no to Alcacer; I just think if we're only going to get 1 big signing, there are people I'd put ahead of him.

5.) 11 Jun 2018 15:11:18
Yeh. I agree . But I would like to think that He wouldn't be are only signing! I would also like to see a more direct player behind the forwards, Maybe We already have that player, just playing Him in the wrong position . Lemina? Thoughts?

07 Jun 2018 17:22:06
We are now looking at Aston Villa duo Andre Green and Keinan Davis for 4 million each. I haven't a clue about them apart from the fact that according to some reports they have scored some important and good goals for Villa. At 4 million it would be worth it I think as they are both young and seem to have potential.

Armstrong has been a great signing. Same with Lemina and Hojberg. just need the rest to cooperate. Lovely goal from Cedric aas well!

1.) 03 Dec 2018 02:08:03
Redmond was very good as well with his pace, trickery and direct running. Once he learns to improve his decision making and passing in the final third, he'll be a handful. Credit where it's due to Hughes, got guts to start Obafemi against a team like United and it worked well seeing how much the lad pressed and unsettled the opposition. Lemina got stuck in well but like Hojbjerg sometimes took too long on the ball. Yoshida and Vestegaard for majority spells was solid as well. Liked the attacking intent overall. Well played MH.

28 Nov 2018 09:03:50
Why hasn't he been sacked yet?

1.) 28 Nov 2018 09:47:51
Don’t know why - maybe all prospective replacement candidates need more time to commit. No news on new DOF either!
Keep On Marching!
ps. would like to see the exact team for Man U except for the inclusion of Bednarek and Gabbiadini with Yoshi/ Stephens and Obafermi returning to the bench.
( Has MH got the balls)?

2.) 28 Nov 2018 10:56:05
The board probably don't want to pay up his contract but when we're languishing near the bottom of the championship they'll wish that they removed him.

24 Nov 2018 17:23:38
There are two main positives we can take from the Fulham game:

1. Saints scored more than one goal
2. There is no a higher chance of Hughes being sacked.

1.) 24 Nov 2018 17:58:33
Thought Pellegrino was bad. Hughes is awful. Our defence is woeful. He's worse than branfoot. We're going down.

2.) 24 Nov 2018 19:54:28
Don’t worry because ‘we aren’t far off to where we want to be’. This is what worries me the most - he actually appears to believe we are unlucky, his average points ratio is not worthy of keeping the job any longer, he has to go.

3.) 25 Nov 2018 08:57:05
I actually thought it was one of our best offensive displays. Sadly with the mistakes that they made our defence is championship quality at best.

11 Nov 2018 13:26:48
Some good news for everyone. Shane Long has an injury which means they can actually start someone half decent.

The bad news is that Ings also has an injury.

10 Nov 2018 17:42:58
See you in the Championship next season lads. At least we'll be able to play Pompey again.

He got RBL playing some awesome football and apparently he is well into developing youth so there is more hope for the likes of Valery, Obafembi and most of all Gallagher.

Yeah brilliant at creating problems and running round like a headless chicken, but his finishing is poor and also seems to create problems for us a well.

Just out of interest, why do you want petagna in? He has a useless record, worse than carrillo's, and he seems like a similar player.

That would be a really good move if it comes off. I watched him quite a lot in training with Man City and he seemed to be better than their first choice at that time which was Bravo. He is really agile and a class shot stopper and would provide some good competition for McCarthy.

Sounds like a good deal to me. I wouldn't question any of our buys from Celtic due to the success rate we have had with their players!

Lack a goalscorer? Errrm we do have quite a few with the likes of Ings, Austin, Gabbi who all have all shown they can be clinical. However we are currently blessed with a rubbish manager who literally isn't coaching the players right. We also have Gallagher and Obafembi who are long overdue to make a first team appearance. They could be, especially gallagher, the solution to our lack of goals. The defence is our weakness but then when you have Vestergaard sat on the bench it is going to be.

Hahaha, there are still a few more decent ones. You have Jardim, Wenger, Strachan and Zidane without posts at the moment. some of them I admit would be being quite hopeful, but you never know.

I think you need to adjust your non-performing players list.
Long should be given a P45 along with Hughes. He isn't even worth selling. You may say that he is brilliant at running in behind defenders, BUT WHO GIVES A DAMN IF HE CAN'T SCORE GOALS! Forster does need to go agreed. Bertrand and Gabbi are good players as shown recently, however they need to be managed better.
All very well getting rid or Les Reed as well, but Krueger himself isn't much better. what does an ice hockey player know about football anyway?

Rant over.

One big difference to last year is that if we went 2-0 down we would never have got a goal back and instead we would have let another 1 or 2 in or played super defensive and create no chances. We were missing two of out star players and also Armstrong should have started as he creates some really good chances and is strong on the ball. COYR.

Elyounissi can play in all 3 forward positions so I wouldn't necessarily say a FW or ST is our main priority. If you look at all of our forward options when they were on a good run they performed really well. I think this next season can be a really good season for us with a potential top 7 finish and maybe a Leicester as they were nearly relegated the season before they won the prem!

As regards to center back, it looks like we are strengthening those areas with the likes of Marlon Santos. Bednarek has heaps of potential and seems to have a goal threat similar to the way Fonte used to have. COYR.
