Regardless of weather you agree with the transfer policy, the formation or players used. We must all agree that tonight is massive psychologically. A win is a must to put us above Cardiff.

lets get behind the boys COYS!

may sound like a weird shout for a new manager but what about Vladimir Petkovic he is Switzerland National team coach.

How about my gran? She couldn't do any worse than Hughes.

Get them working like clockwork.

I feel that Ralph needs to go unbeaten for the rest of the season or we should look for a new manager. What happened to the fight in the team? We were top at one point in the season and then he started playing players out of position and backwards passsing and now we are only surviving because the bottom 3 are so bad.

Following his ‘man of the match’ rated performance v Leicester I was very surprised to see Salisu dropped v Liverpool when his speed would have been a great asset to combat mane and Salah in place of Bednarek if Jack Stephens was due a game. Considering young Salisu is canvassed as a potential prodigy for next season and more game time is invaluable. what’s. going on? No injury reported - another Ralph mystery? ( perhaps he’s hiding him from Klopp) !,

Right end of season question

of the teams relegated which players would you like to see at Saints?

Norwich: Cantwell, Aarons - Aarons won’t happen
Bournemouth: Lerma would add something different in our midfield and a bit more tenacity but I don’t think we’d go in for him.
Watford: ridiculous that they’re down with the talent they have - Deulofeu, Pereyra, Doucoure, Capoue, Foster, Holebas, Dawson, Kabasele, Deeney, Sarr will surely all leave. Don’t really think we need any of them, maybe Dawson as a good squad player but the others will be on too high wages for us and I wouldn’t particularly want any of them.

So, this is the squad for the season what do we all think?
Angus Gunn Alex McCarthy
Jannik Vestergaard Jan Bednarek Jack Stephens Kevin Danso Maya Yoshida
Ryan Bertrand Sam McQueen Cedric Soares Yan Valery
Oriol Romeu James Ward-Prowse Pierre Hoibjerg Stuart Armstrong
Nathan Redmond Moussa Dejenpo Sofiane Boufal Danny Ings Shane Long Che Adams
Michael Obafemi

I would say Hasenhuttl has done a good job thinning the squad.
I would like to see us get rid of Stephens, McQueen and long in January and look to buy a new wing back and a new defensive midfielder.

I seriously don't think we'll be getting rid of Shane Long, he has a year left on his contract. He's the exact player that RH wants to work with. I think he knows his place in the squad, a pair of fresh legs we can look to when we're up in a game that will chase down the ball and apply pressure.
Maybe we'll be able to loan out Stephens and McQueen in Jan. Can't see people wanting to buy them. Again though Stephens is good as a backup option.
I think it's the squad RH wanted, a good mix of youth and experience. I think we might also see a few academy players make the jump from the reserves to the first team: Will Smallbone, Jake Vokins, Dan N'Lundulu.

I can't see us wanting to spend any more money in Jan, we'll work with what we have and promote any academy players if they're good enough or if enough injuries occur.

Happy with what Ralph is doing. i'd like to see two other signings (CB and WB) . Not saints related but looking at what Leicester are doing could they be a top 5 side? (with Man u and Arsenal a mess) .

For sure - after their last escapade into the top six we were hearing ‘it’ll never happen again’ (anyone breaching the far superior top six) but with that much mismanagement (plus we don’t know how Lampard’s Chelsea will go) there’s definitely potential for them to burst through again.

And let’s not forget they’ve won the league more recently than United, Arsenal or Spurs so really would a European spot be that much of a surprise 😜.

2.) 09 Jul 2019 12:18:51
It'll be an interesting year this year after last season. I feel it'll be the shame at the top with no one able to touch City or Liverpool. Spurs will the closest outside, they still haven't sold any first team players and I haven't heard any rumours of anyone departing recently. As you've both said United and Chelsea don't seem to have that stability anymore. With them both giving loyal ex-players a chance who don't have great managerial records at the top level, I can't see them having great seasons. Arsenal have Emery serving a second term. However, they'll need to sign a few players to reach the level of the top 3.

Leicester and Wolves seem the most well-equipped sides to break into the top 6 and maybe even 4. It'll be interesting if both these clubs don't suffer from what we suffered when we were up there and keep their best players, you look at Maddison and Tielemans for Leicester another good season and I'd expect the big clubs chasing them. Similar stuff with Neves at Wolves.

What are your predictions for us this term? It seems like Ralph is trying to build a young sustainable squad. I think as long as he sorts out our defence we can expert a very good season.

3.) 09 Jul 2019 14:37:38
Im hoping we can give everyone a good game (like we did against Man u and Spurs at the end of last season) and we can stay in the to 10 most saints fans would be happy. Maybe a cheeky cup run.

4.) 09 Jul 2019 23:08:24
Would hope to be behind no more than the top six, plus Wolves, Leicester and maybe West Ham - bottom half wouldn’t be disastrous considering our last couple of seasons but I think Ralph is looking at top 8/ 10.

5.) 10 Jul 2019 10:27:25
I would be happy with a top ten finish and then hopefully give Ralph some more money to bring in a couple more quality players during summer 2020. I'd like to see us pushing for European football again within 2/ 3 years.

Tadic anyone. Making Madrid look stupid.

lostsaint

1.) 05 Mar 2019 22:32:52
Amazing performance by him today but we will see if he can keep this up for 2 seasons. Played well similarly with us first season or 2 then dropped off.

2.) 06 Mar 2019 08:59:08
He's relishing the free roaming role he has in the Ajax squad, getting himself in all different positions in the final third of the pitch, and not relied on to track back and defend. You're really seeing a different player this season, 26 goals and 15 assists in all competitions are outstanding, goals against Bayern and Madrid really does show off his quality. I hope that him and Ajax can go even further in the champions league. I'd go as far as saying I hope Liverpool go through and he shows VVD the ropes like he did Madrid.

3.) 06 Mar 2019 14:35:18
Always rated Tadic. Don't think that some of our previous managers gave him a chance to play his natural game. Only downside was that he didn't track back but then I remember that we had a player similar to that before in a certain Matthew Le Tissier and he didn't do too bad for us.

4.) 06 Mar 2019 17:19:42
I mean, he wanted to leave and wasn't going to sign a new contract. Could've kept him and had half that player and then lost him on a free or made a few quid towards a replacement.

Makes good sense but is very scary as it maybe to late to get the right manager once Reed is replaced.
