Realising their mistake, Wigan sack manager Kolo Toure after 9 games in charge without a win.

Just saying .

My estimate is we will let him take us down, and it won’t even be close . the dross football against newcastle was awful. Ears ringing from the Toon fans chanting ‘Boring … Boring … Boring’ . they weren’t wrong.
Then they will give him time in the championship because of his championship pedigree!
And then sack him after a succession of long ball tactics!
Felt sorry for lyanco and caleta . hit it long everytime they got the ball .

Quick Saints board, sack Jones and get Dyche in before he signs on the dotted line for Everton

Bring back Ian Branfoot/Jan Poortveilt/Stuart Gray/Paul Sturrock*

*select as you wish

Jones does not have a clue. It's embarrassing to watch, doubly by his aggressive attitude towards our fans and the media.

Get rid!

Agree with all of the above BUT our recruitment department has supposedly been planning our strategy for years. Examples… Orsic 8 million Adam Armstrong 15 million Mara 12 million Diallo 13 million that's 48 million on 4 players who will NEVER be premiership quality mainly due to physicality which the performance analysts should be pointing out. Continued obsession with not breaking that 20 million transfer barrier! 2 quality strikers at maybe 25-35 million would pay dividends AND keep us in premier league…. how much is that worth? You have to have real quality in the final third to survive in this league and we have failed to recruit since the signing of and subsequent sale of Danny Ings. I haven’t mentioned adams, djenepo or Aribo!

Couldn’t agree more 2408 it seems unfathomable why the BOARD would hesitate to spend the kind of money on a couple of quality strikers -especially when it’s probably needed to keep Premier League status alive and also considering a good chance of recouping any monies spent (AND THEN SOME) by way of Premiership payment from the Football League for remaining in the top flight!

I agree with you all - and the thing is, it seems so blindingly obvious. We lack goals and sign a right back and before that sign two players who add nothing more than what we already have. It’s lunacy.

As I’ve said many times, we have a championship squad but for those who feel a year out of the PL would benefit us, I would say it’s not as easy as that.

Yesterday we were marginally better than a struggling championship team. To think we would automatically bounce back if relegated is naive.

I’m beginning to like Jones less every time a microphone is thrust in front of him. The low attendance tells a story too - it’s not just affordability, it’s appetite too. When we’re languishing bottom of the league, a fourth round cup tie seems irrelevant.

Question, would you trade a 2-0 win against Newcastle on Tuesday for a 2-0 win at Brentford on Saturday?

As good as it would be to add some silverware. Realistically if we did get past Newcastle on Tuesday which would be a massive surprise I very much doubt we would defeat Man U and it would be the same as the last time we played them at Wembley. I remember being in the stands that day and our team now is way below that level. And if by some miracle they did pull it off the shine would soon be lost by a relegation. Staying in the prem has to be our priority. Signing a striker who can score 8-10 goals in the next 18 games is a must. Failure to do that all but dooms us to championship next season!

We say we need a striker, but who would be your pick? It's January and realistically we can only encourage a player not getting game time, scored very few goals to games. We need a miracle to be honest.

It’s not this window that is the problem, it’s the last 6. A plethora of centre forwards have moved, none of quality to Saints. When Paul Mitchell and his team were with Saints we had a good squad and were 110 million in trading profit. In the last 5 years, excluding Van Dijk, are 225 million in deficit. To answer your question, it’s probably too late now to get a prime target so to paper over the cracks someone who offers something different. I would take a punt on Stewart or Dennis or Morelos, they would not be a massive financial gamble but just might get the extra 6/7 goals we need and would score in the championship which is where we are deservingly heading

If Saints sign Sulemana from Rennes it would not surprise if they still go for a late capture of Lorient C/F Moffi!

As I said on 10th December, Saints have been scouting Moffi and Ouattara for some time. Ouattara has signed for Bournemouth.
