4 hours to go, hopefully of four incomings and two more going. What a deadline day this would be.

From what all sources seem to be saying;

Edozie £10m completed medical
Larios £6m completed medical
Maitland-Niles loan-to-buy ~£14m completed medical
Caleta-Car £8m undergoing medical

Bednarek loan-to-buy undergoing medical at Villa
Some interest in Walcott and Redmond, hopefully one of them will go to a desperate Chanpionship club!

On paper, our transfer window has been unbelievable. Only downside, no senior striker, which was probably the first thing on the list. Hopefully none of these deals fall through this evening.

Maybe I'm being greedy but I still wanted a 15-20 goals a season front man. Lack of goals could let us down this season

Unbelievable final day of the window for Saints with some amazing in-comings. In all, more than £70M invested with some shrewd outgoings.

I agree with you SaintGGsy… shame that we couldn’t get in a proven 15-20 goal striker but overall the squad is far stronger at the end of the window than it was before.

When Tino regains fitness that will feel like another new player.

The only thing I don’t quite get is we apparently sold Valery for £500K - surely he’s worth £3-5M? I know he has his defensive frailties but that seems such a low valuation.

Anyway, I can’t remember saying this for many a year, but well done to the Board - they have walked the talk and clearly have high aspirations for the club.

I have previously said that I have no idea what the starting line-up should be. Tonight I have even less idea but this could be the start of a very exciting journey.

Let’s hope so, starting at Wolves on Saturday!

Hey fellow Posters agree also with your comments. It appears a dark vaill has been lifted from the preceding period with exciting times ahead! The ‘incomings’ have been very astute.Reasonably happy for Ralph to remain the ‘Front Man’for the moment Providing he continues to accept advice from his Coaches and implements their suggestions. It’s no accident that a dramatic improvement in the Teams playing style and performance has taken place since the arrival of our New Coaching/Scouting Team and obviously new Owners.I belcieve most of us are very aware of this situation and now look forward to continued harmony within the Camp and a togetherness focussing on an upward trajectory from our exciting Young Players for the Season Ahead

A good window fir the Saints but still concerned we didn’t sign a striker as was promised as nailed on by Ralph. Anyway we now have some exciting young players in and looking forward to the ride. Managed to get rid of Bednarek and glad he’s gone. Sad Ori has gone but got to move forward now. COYS

I'm very pleased with this transfer window. It'll be interesting to see how Ćaleta-Car settles into the team. AMN will improve the squad with his versatility.

Ideally a new striker or quality winger would've been ideally. I think at least the board have acknowledged it, hence the fact we were supposedly going to smash our transfer record to bring in Gapko. This is a promising sign for future transfer windows. I think the board realise that we're going to have to spend if we want to bring someone in who has a real quality that can instantly improve the team.

For me our defensive resilience is just as important as bringing in a striker. I believe the current squad of attackers can and will improve this season going forward. I don't think either Adams or Armstrong will score 15+ goals in the Premier but if they can get closer to 18-20 between them, this will be a huge help.

Has Pep really just said in his conference that Southampton is a superb club!?

Guernseyboy . he did indeed!

Reality is, do we ‘hope’ that some of our academy prospects make it . or do we cherry pick some of Man City’s academy stars, who can’t get into the first team squad, simply because the squad is full of world superstars!
Who ever thought of this strategy for Saints, I salute you!

There is absolutely no way a club that has just avoided relegation for the last couple of seasons will sign a guaranteed 15 goal plus striker, they’re going to top 6 sides for mega money
However it is clear that although we didn’t bring a striker in, the ambition is there to bring one in should we need one
But with AdArma scoring and Che’s form we might not!
