So sick and tired of watching player after player giving the ball away cheaply, game after game.

No leaders on the pitch at all - no quality in the final third - no game plan at all.

Losing to effectively Liverpool U21's - RM and team, simply pathetic. Shame on you all.

I learnt a few things tonight - I was wrong about Shea Charles - he’s even worse than I thought.

And as for Stephens, he never passes the ball, he only passes the responsibility.

Lumley, like Baz has been completely brain washed by RM - let’s play Russian roulette in our own box rather than clear to safety.

RM really isn’t Pep - his tactical substitutions failed to do anything other than weaken the side.

Not a lot else to say other than if you don’t take your chances you don’t win football matches.

Oh well - 3 points at Birmingham might lift the gloom

We did compete but lack quality finishers. Liverpool knew that and just waited for us to give the ball away under high press which is exactly what we eventually did. 3-0 is harsh and unforgiving but so is the premier league. Really don’t think RM is the manager we need but don’t really see an obvious replacement.

Would respectively disagree we competed tonight - and would also suggest that wasn’t the PL tonight, that was U21 level.

We should have been 2-0 up in the first 15 minutes. It took Liverpool 30 minutes to work us out so I feel that we were competitive. Gomez dropped 10 yards to stop diagonal balls between centre and full backs. Elliot pushed forward 10 yards which sucked Aribo back and completely nullified his attacking threat. They hunted Charles and forced him into errors. Gakpo dropped 5 yards and pulled our centre backs out leaving our fullbacks square which allowed koumas and later Danns space in between the centre and full backs. In short, Klopp tweaked the shape and tactic, RM didn’t.

Martin and his stubbornness will be his downfall and that of Southampton football club this season. I wish our run of games was not against lower opposition as it falsely bigged up his way of playing.
The subtle changes by Liverpool for the reason that Klopp is successful…. Martin continuously changes players not tactics. What an earth he thought Smallbone could bring the Team, I have no idea… Our last game is statistics were unbelievable… Zero tackles in 90 minutes, just one of them. I watched him last night, he neither tackled, nor attempted to get the ball, …
And what did Martin say at the end?, we will take that style into the next game…
