So following the recent EU referendum and the vote to leave the EU - we've managed to shoot ourselves in the foot BIG TIME.

Jose Fonte and Oriol Romeu need work permits to stay in the country.

{Ed003's Note - we don't leave for 2 years.}

Maybe more chance of English youngsters coming through and who knows 10yrs time could be world cup winners.

IMO leaving was the best possible thing

I don't see how we've 'shot ourselves in the foot'. If it does become harder to sign foreign players, that'll encourage clubs to use English/ Welsh/ maybe Scottish/ maybe NI players/ managers/ coaching staff (which can only be a good thing for home nations football) and if a club is going through the hassle of getting any potential work permit, you know that player is going to be good and more than likely stick around for a few years.

If you’re EU decision was based upon SFC potentially losing one squad player and one who has a couple of years left in him, then I think you need to seriously look at your priorities.

My own view is that whilst the EPL is a great spectacle, the effect on English football as a whole has been catastrophic. Bring back the old 3 foreigner rule as far as I’m concerned.

If Cuco can get a work permit, anyone can.
