So, I've heard from a reliable source at the club that talks are ongoing with RK and things are progressing well. He has asked the board for significant funds in the window to build the squad with some big names required. We are resigned to loosing at least three players with VIC, mane and Juanmi looking most likely to leave but with a big kitty to replace. Unlikely to look to strengthen up front but some key midfielders and another CB. Apparently some key players have been identified and some faxes flying around looking to make contact. Hopefully a fruitful summer with important players in to replace the 2 big names out and a contract extension for Koeman.

Will juanmi be leaving on a permanent transfer or loan? Would be a shame since he was very promising back in Spain. Overall seems believable and not too worried since both wanyama and mane are easily replaceable but still hoping they will stay. Not expecting lots of names to pop up considering the way we handle transfers but I would love to see Jason McCarthy getting into the fold a little next season. Been solid at Wycombe and he might push yosh out of the team. Isgrove's loan is also bearing fruit. Maybe we should give him a chance too? Always looked promising in pre season.

Juanmi hasn't had much game time, since we have Austin, Pelle, J Rod and Long up front now I can't see a need to keep him. I think he may have looked a bit better than he actually is based on the fact he hasn't had much of a chance. Particularly now we have J Rod back from injury I would say we are heavily weighted up front. I would expect to see himself for a negligible fee.

If J Rod's performance and size is anything to go by Sunday he won't be contributing much next season.

He's been out from the game for a long time. Give him a break. Let him have a proper pre season and wait until he regains his match sharpness back, then you can judge. In the meantime we can use our abundance of attacking options so we don't have to fully depend on jayrod getting back to his best anytime soon. Give him time.

match sharpness is one thing but what I saw of him Saturday it doesn't look like he's been doing any fitness training apart from lifting weights! Top heavy and sluggish

Hope I am proved wrong as he was unplayable at times before the injury.

I actually thought from what I'd seen he looked reasonably sharp and fit. 2 years at a peak age is huge I don't think we'll know for sure
until Christmas.

Hate to agree with JWP there.
J-Rod looked sluggish and slow. He definitely needs a good pre-season to get that strength and pace back, I remember watching him unable to outpace Nasri, who isn't all too fast himself. Yes he looked very poor, unable to get past players, but he needs time, especially after such a long injury. Hopefully he will become stronger than before, he's come back to fitness at a good time with a pre-season of strengthening and conditioning ahead.

It will take at least the whole of the summer before J-Rod gets back to 100% fitness and confidence. I have had the same injury myself playing tennis and I can only describe it as feeling like you are running in water to start with, even though you know you're not injured and longer. He will be back, and the more support he gets, the quicker we'll see results I can promise you that!

Real Sociedad want Juanmi.

Totally agree re Jay-Rod - I also saw him outpaced by Nasri and he was slow to get across to cover the their right wing too / can't recall who was playing there at the time. On the ball he looked indecisive because he did not have the pace to beat the defender or take him on.

He really needs to lose some muscle / timber and get his sprints up to speed. Broccoli and shuttle runs then.

I love Mane and Big Vic - can't see why you want them gone, Mane and Long running in behind make fools of big strong heavy defenders - as we saw last weekend - and big Vic keeps it honest in midfield, especially with guys like Davis Claise and JWP in there working off him.

I don't think anyone wants Mane or Vic to go but realistically it is a big possibility they will leave this summer.
My biggest worry isn't actually them but Fraser. He made a huge impact to our defenses confidence when he came back and has been linked away.
We need to tie RK down quickly so that we have stability. That way it might just sway our top players to stay when inevitably the clubs with more cash come knocking.

I think the speculation over Fraser was with Chelsea, but Courtois has subsequently come out and said he is staying at Chelsea.

Agreed, but if Chelsea were linked with him before and now aren't, that will have alerted a few other clubs to come clambering for his signature, possibly abroad, possibly United, or I hate to say it but Liverpool.
