Well done to England's heroic Players' for reaching the semi-finals following some difficult games throughout. the tournament.However they were completely undone by Thomas Tuchel's decision in the last quarter by withdrawing his attack plan by introducing more defenders in lieu thus encouraging and allowing the likes of Messi Alveraz etc.to advance further forward and become more lethal around the penalty area without the threat of counter attacks.

I suppose at this level the Management cream rises to the top as Tuchel was completely outsmarted by Argentine Coach Lionel Sculoni regarding substitutions and consequently the possible result.Let's hope that this blunder Wii be a future lesson learned for Tonda Eckert watching on. Keep On Marching.!

I agree St John.

This was my point about Southgate. Tuchel was brought in to get us over the line and succeed in the pressure moments.

Instead he went defensive with 30 minutes still to play. Before that change the game was open and dangerous to both teams, but the choice to defend made the game dangerous only for us.

In one sense it's the same old England. Yet the one massive positive/change is the ongoing one but one that has nothing to do with Tuchel.

For me Southgate will go down as one of the greatest ever England manager simply because he changed the mindset of England players, fans and our ego.

He turned down the pressure and made us more into underdogs, kept the media off the players backs, brought the team together and let them go out there and play football.

With that we've reaped consecutive finals/semi finals against arguably tougher games then we've faced this world cup.

I didn't see much difference between Tuchel and Southgate. All I saw was the legacy Southgate left behind and it's why I said bring him back and never wanted him gone in the first place.

Alas, like how I constantly complain on here about fans over reaction/grass is greener mentality, once gain they get what they ask for.
