Tomas partey of Athletico has popped up again. I asked earlier the window but it didn't seem to post. Ed's would athletico be open to selling?

Ghanaian, 6ft 1in defensive midfielder. 23 yrs old still young. No signs whatsoever of any contact with athletics. I think any players have already been indentified any names will pop up when Saints make a definite move. Bags of talent in the Under 21's and academy though just waiting for their chance. Entrance in the old JPT Trophy would be an excellent time to try any "young pretenders" out. Well done to Fonte and Soares last night they deserved it.

How easy would it be to get a work permit for him. I worry about bringing in African players as the best ones disappear off to the African Cup of Nations mid season.

Hi markyruk. Wanyama and Mane were away in the African cup of nations and we really didn't miss them that much to worry about it. But fair point. Partey's highest market price as far as I can find out is £4.25million so at his age and valuation is not bad. His playing career has mainly been in the "B" side and 2 loan spells at Mallorca and Almeria. Looks useful and one for the future given time and encouragement. Possible unpolished diamond. You are spot on about the work permit. COYR's.
