Alright I can see some everton fans completely missing the point here, and I do hope you guys pay attention this time because I've been repeating myself for God knows how long.
First of all, nobody is denying the bigger stature and success everton has compared to us, its written in the history books. Secondly, there is nothing wrong with being bemused by your manager moving to a team who finished below you and competing in less fronts, I'm sure most fans would think the same. Thirdly, I ask these everton fans, if you think your heritage is enough to convince us that Koeman moving to everton is supposed to be normal and expected, then why must your club offer more than double his current wages just to lure him in? Sounds like something more than just heritage is playing a part there.

Totally agree. If he goes there it has absolutely nothing to do with the history of the club it will be that he has had a huge increase in salary and a promise of huge improvements both financially and structurally to a club that has been on a downward spiral for some time.
{Ed025's Note - actually the spiral is only the last 2 years cyprus, im the everton ED and agree with you that if he does move it will more about the money than anything and not the prestige mate..

Can't really argue with you Vick. As a blue, I can't say he is mulling over a move because of the stature of our club. Money talks I suppose. We have a section of fans that believe the lure of the EFC name should be enough to bring in big names but I would be lying to you if I agreed with that. Money runs the modern game and there is little room, unfortunately, for sentiment.
Ignore our last two league finishes as I believe our previous manager was holding the team back. We have a talented squad and some very good promising kids to come through as well as a bit of cash to spend, for a change. Whoever takes the job has good foundations to build on. I believe Martinez is in the frame to manage your team, I hope your board don't appoint him. He's had one good season out of five and isn't good enough at premier level. You deserve better than that if RK does leave.
I think us Evertonians should be a bit more humble in situations such as this. We have been on the receiving end in the last two decades when bigger clubs have been circling our players. We didn't like it much either so I hope, now that we have secured a billionaire investor, that we will keep our feet on the ground. Good luck next season boys and girls, regardless of whoever is in charge you have, from the outside looking in, a well run family club and they are the type we want to see in our top league.

Spoken like a proper fan. Good on you, spudv! I am well aware of the Martinez rumours and like you will prefer a manager who doesn't play Cleverly or Kone out wide when there's mirallas or delofeu on the bench. There are many good managers out there available, I'm sure we'll get another good one. We've hit the nail on the head with the last three.
All the best next season.
