The debate on Puel would never have happened if:-
(1) Our Midfield had scored another 4-5 goals

(2) If we hit the target another 25% of the time, to me its unacceptable to get inside the box and miss target more than 50% of the time.

(3) If Shane Long, Jay Rodrigues and Charlie Austin had scored 4-5 extra between them.

(4) If Frazer Forster had played as we know he can, he was too static and could have saved at least 4-5 of the soft goal attempts

(5) If Virgil Van Dyke had not suffered such a bad injury, he is more than one player, the Man Mountain was also providing Strike capacity, he could make a wonderful Striker if he chose to be.

(6) Boufal has qualities, but no pre season - then a bad injury and possibly Desperation to prove himself in the 20-25 he was allowed for a fair few games is not a true opportunity.

Puel has suffered because we have seen boring football, all of this passing across the back has to stop. Our pressing football of the last few seasons was exciting, its not about loosing a few points or games, its about entertainment.

The missing ingredient for me is two players; we have lost Mane - Wanyama - Alderwield and Schniderlin these players freed up midfield and meant that we were playing way more forward. if we were 5 meters further up the field and then had some pace, we would be there.

Just think we need to perhaps address the core issues rather than blame Puel for everything, another season, three more players (Puel Players) and we will know!

What we can't do is suffer boring football, the supporters will not put up with it.

We are not going to take on the Big Six . and that's okay, what we do want is positive football, academy players breaking through, the odd big win Preferably beating Liverpool every time we play and the odd good cup run.!

There is plenty to be thankful for . remember League 1 . not that long avows it?

Looking forward to the new season, it will be exciting, whoever is managing us.

As much as the Premier League is obviously worlds apart from League 1 let's not pretend it wasn't nice having that 'we're the best in the league and odds are we'll score a few' feeling wasn't amazing.

At least over the few previous seasons we were almoat guaranteed entertainment!

One-off season or a sign of things to come?
