Well we certainly can't argue with the result or the performance. It was good to see the team chasing the ball and putting pressure if them for the full 90 minutes!

Still think it should have been 6-0.

We'll see where the misery mongerers are tomorrow.

Shane long is obviously not a striker.

So that's the difference when we have a mobile cf.

Can I rent RoKo to tell the other 'arv to up her performance, and become more physical?

What an investment that could be!

I didn't see or hear the game and the reports I can find are pretty bare.

Was there a particular reason we couldn't beat Watford? Seems like the kind of game a B team should win.

Watford are a better side than you seem to want to give them credit for. They'll be this seasons surprise team, well at least of the promoted teams

We didn't create any chances.

An absolute cracker of a first half followed by the slow killing of the game after the break. Team didn't look to be missing Spider and Clyne too much. Clasie did his job and Soares made some blinding runs and didn't put his foot wrong that I saw.

Somebody needs to remind Mane how to pass though.

Looking good for next season I reckon. Who needs a cup run when you've got Europe!

Mane was just a pest last night and provided the clever through ball to Pelle and it was a special goal . I thought Clasie though looked well below what I was expecting and to say he can play the Morgan role is just crackers he doesn't have the physical ability to do that . Agree entirely that Wanyama ran the show in midfield and also Davis kept the engine running but we lacked a bit of bite in midfield , hope that can be sorted out pretty quick because a better team might have torn us apart last night as we played with no urgency.

It's on the OS; Clasie is now a Saints man. Best of luck to him.

Spot on 0001. His youth coach spent most of his interview for the programme saying the only times he isn't perfect is when he finds it too easy and gets distracted!

Years of Football Manager have ingrained within me the belief that Wijnaldum would be an incredible signing!

If I recall it was what got us out of a losing streak spanning Nov-Dec and catalysed our run of results that put us into Europe? The commentators on MOTD couldn't control themselves over how well it worked the first couple of games!

As much as the Premier League is obviously worlds apart from League 1 let's not pretend it wasn't nice having that 'we're the best in the league and odds are we'll score a few' feeling wasn't amazing.

At least over the few previous seasons we were almoat guaranteed entertainment!

One-off season or a sign of things to come?

I think the crash is gaining 13 fewer points than we did last season. The almost total lack of quality outside the top 7 saved us from embarrassment.

Yes, JRod on the left, Lambert in the middle and Lallana on the right. He used to smash it as an inside forward with his pace but he's a fraction of that player now and Puel's ROTATE ROTATE ROTATE policy isn't helping as he needs a serious run of games to get his confidence up.

Judging by that result I wish the article had been correct!

{Ed001's Note - hopefully I will avoid making that mistake in future. Just going to cut out talking about individual players in the defining battle where possible. So many key players were out this weekend, following the internationals, the whole article ended up useless.}
