I might get shot down for this, but if Sam Allardyce is appointed England boss should we make a raid on Sunderland?

Hear me out, Jermaine Defoe, Jan Kirchkoff and Lamine Sané would fit in perfectly here. A back 3 of Sané, Fonte and Van Dijk would provide width, strength and pace while also giving us more aerial capability because of Sané and Virgil's height.

Kirchkoff is similar to Wanyama in the sense that he's essentially a sweeper and the muscle at the base of midfield that we so desperately need after his departure.

Defoe would be ideal upfront, a certain 15+ goal a season striker and would be relatively inexpensive compared to other options out there - and he's MORE that Premier League proven. We'd probably be able to get him for roughly 6-7 million considering his age.

Why on earth would we pay 6-7 million for someone who's 35 years old.

My mistake, he's 33 going on 34 but its still too much. That's not how the staff in charge of transfers works.

I meant as a total package on a one or two year deal. £2.5 million transfer fee and the rest in bonuses and wages.

He wouldn't exactly be a game able considering his record, think he's only had one season where he hasn't scored 10+ goals and that was because of an ACL injury!

We have enough CM's IMO, although I do think Kirchoff's quality, Sane looks like a good player and Defoe's always a good player to have, natural goal scorer, I'd like a younger player for the long-term though.
