My thoughts on this upcoming silly season.
We are likely to lose 2 first team players Plus a surprise 1st team player will also leave. (Its just a guess!)
A lot of people on here will panic. (Thats a given)
We will replace with quality, get at least one signing in that is wanted by clubs above us.
Make a couple of very shrewd loan signings late on in the window.
Tomorrows post from me, as per how it is with all the papers at the moment, will contradict everything that is written above.

I don't think anyone will panic this season, last year was extraordinary circumstances and therefore unless 6/7 players leave most of us will have faith the club can adequately replace them.

I was one of those panicking like mad last year, but I have to say they did very well in not only replacing MoPo for RoKo but also the other players.

The main gripe for me was it was clear to most of us that another striker was needed and in all honesty that was probably the difference between us finishing top 4. Due to goals drying up.

We still have not replaced Lallana IMO, we need someone in the centre with a bit of flair, pick locking and the balls to shoot from outside the box.

If Clyne does leave it will be frustrating after selling chambers to see 2 young english players sold only to bring in a cheap foreign alternative but football is a business these days and unfortunately we are not in the financial position a lot of our fans seem to think we are.

The fact KL ha has to inject 20m cash in the form of a loan says it all to me.

We are still the toast of the country in how to run a football club even after last years "summer exodus". So massive compliments to the board and Les Reed (who I abused to no end last year).

Europa League is massive for us and I am just praying we get to the group stages with Borrusia Dortmund and Bordeaux due to family links. Dortmund away would be incredible for the fans and players.

KL is turning out to be a bit of ledge. Long live the Queen.
Thank you Markus for the wonderland.

If the money in the league didn't do much for us wot is 20 mil loan going to do.
And the only reason she loand money to our clubs is so interest on repayment will be lower just means kl ain't interested in making the team better.
And wot u said about 3 first team players leaving is no different to wot I posted earlier only difference is u didn't name the players u believe will leave, clyne, schniedrlin, fonte or wanyama.

The 20 mil loan was to pay off a loan that Cortese took out in 2012 which we needed to repay, otherwise we'd HAVE to sell players

Here's a quote about that loan;
"the new loan has been used to pay off a £19 million loan that was taken out in 2012 to the Vibrac Corporation, a company based in the British Virgin Isles that has provided finance to several other Premier League clubs. It means that Southampton’s entire debt of just under £50 million is now ‘soft’ in that it is owed only to the owner"

I don't see how Katharina taking on all of the clubs debt herself is her not wanting to make the team better. Nah, somehow it's all a scheme to extract as much money as possible before selling the club

Katharina, Les Reed and Ralph Krueger (along with the rest of the board) have done a fantastic job and I can't believe some people still slag off the board after all they've done in the last year

I'm not sure about panicking, cyprussaint, but I think Saints are going to have to do more business than they (publicly) seem to think. Four key players (GK, RB, CB, CM) are probably going to have to be replaced, plus the two loans, Elia and Djuricic, just to end up with a squad as thin as last season's.

I'd think two or three more signings are required on top of that if they want to improve the depth - which they're going to have to do, with European commitments. That's a lot of work ahead for Les Reed and his Black Box.

thanks for posting that saintysaintsaint. couldn't be arsed digging it up for someone who is stating other fans are deluded, when they are personally trying to claim KL has no interest in making the team or the club better. total bollocks. we are extremely lucky to have KL.

Yes KL loan here team money to pay off a loan.the reason is all down to the higher interest that would have been paid overall so to dodge that she loan 20mil to here own club to pay that loan quicker meaning it saved here money in the long run but done nothing for our team it was for here business books to look better.and with the loan she loand us will have a much cheaper interest so it's down to save her money witch is all she cares about Money, money, money
Not because I love my team
Look at hull the chairman finaced his team didn't loan his team money there is a difference same as abromivic did chealsea and man c chairman did for them.there is fair play but a team can receive a big donation witch will help
So if KL cares and loves our club why is she loaning us money to pay of a loan just to dodge interest payments

No, it's not to dodge interest payments, she's taken the loans herself, she's paying the interest herself.

The 19million loan caused by Cortese would have been paid off by profit made by the club but the club wouldn't have been able to pay the repayments and thus would have HAD to sell players in order to keep a positive cash flow, by Katharina taking on the debt herself, yes she's paying her own money to pay off a club debt caused by Cortese (not really saving herself money there is she?), it means the club can carry on as it was. So, yes, she has done something for the club by taking the debt on herself.

Clubs should be self sufficient businesses, if an owner has to inject money into the club it's ALWAYS a loan, otherwise it would just become a money pit for them, she's done nothing different. It's nothing to do with how much money she can make from the club or any other conspiracy theory that you seem to have hung on to from last summer

And look where Hull are! Chelsea were always a big club and Man City would never have become that good that quickly had the FFP rules been in place when their owner took over. Les and KL have done a fantastic job of rebuilding a club that should've been relegated given how our already small squad was ripped apart last year. They must be doing something right, if you compare wages I think we had the 3rd/4th lowest wage bill in the league, now translate that to a 7th place finish? That shows how well run we are, when on our wage bill we should on paper be sitting around the relegation zone, also remember we were in league 1 not long ago and during her ownership we've risen to 7th in the prem. can't be that bad can she?

I take it all fans have forgot this statement les made about us having to pay of debts at the start of the season when we sold lallana lambert lovern chamber's shaw
Ill repeat wot he said 'with the money we receive from player sales we will re invest into the team and paying of outstanding debts that is owed witch by doing so will leave us in good shape for seasons to come .his words not mine tv money ,league position money ,lambert 4mil ,lallana 20mil lovern 20mil,chamber's 10mil shaw 2mil

06 Jun 2015 01:07:44
If u remember when we were in league one we still had lallana scheiderlin and we bought lambert clyne fonte add that to wot we had and we had a real strong squad thanks to Marcus not Katherine

She loan us a loan to pay off a loan she still wants that money back
She loand it to us not give to us
And all its down to is it is cheaper to loan a part of her bussiness here own money than it is to borrow from a third party

I get the sense that some fans wouldn't be happy unless KL wrote the club a blank cheque.

And under KL we have signed, Clyne, Bertrand, Cork, J Rod, Wanyama, Tadic, Pelle, Mane, Forster.

06 Jun 2015 16:25:45
Jrod cork and clyne and wanyama were brought when no one even new who KL was cortese was the reason they are or were here .and the other five were brought when we sold all players last year

Some fans were happy with a man called marcus who made sure we had what we needed .and he will allways have the respect of all fans.KL is not that same person.
