A newspaper are reporting that we are joing the race to sign Connor Wickham from sunderland! please god No!! Benteke from villa is more the level we should be looking to sign, or Bony at swansea.

Come on Ronald please make the rest of the league stand up with some quality signings, all the professionals are saying Koeman can attract big names so come on let's see them!! COYR!

Wickham came on leaps and bounds last year. I'm not saying he should be seen as a first choice striker but maybe as a squad player if we could get him at a reasonable price.

I have to disagree wickham has bags of untapped potential when finally given a run in the Sunderland team at the back end of last season he was fantastic and I think he would be an ideal replacement for SRL

Makes me laugh that when you share a rumour and even state a source people get up in arms and hit disagree. This is a rumour site. maybe we could have a couple of different options added. believable, good signing, source also seen, not wanted

Whatever anyone say about Connor Wickham, he is a young kid that was bought and thrown into the big time before he was ready.

Personally I've always felt sorry for the lad, seeing him struggling in the Premier league. That said, at the end of last season, it looked that he actually had some of his confidence back, and was banging goals in for fun.

He could actually turn out to be a great buy for the right club

Ings not Wickham. Think that's why Pelle is stalling - think the stall is Saints end as Ings has been a long term target for the Club and would cost about the same as Pelle. Just an opinion.

Connor Wickham is a very good player, he was scoring for fun in the championship at the age of 20, like said before just wasnt ready when he was put into one of the best leagues in the world, i've purchase him on fifa in my first season and I can tell you in a few seasons he gets over 80 overall, no one can argue with that.

Saintgibbs - couldn't agree more. regardless of he you know someone connected to the club or repeating papertalk there are always one or two persons. Hence why some of us choose not to share info, just in case it doesn't happen.

Pelle deal stalled due to Saints not wanting to pay more than €8m with Fey wanting €12m. Wonder where his head is?!

Please stop going on about him! There's a lot better out there and as the above posts mention, Wickham has masses of potential which I think can be utilized with us.

Saying that I wouldn't be disappointed if we didn't get him. To be quite honest, I'm not entirely sure who I want playing for us next season (within reason), so I'm staying confident in RonKo.

Going By those standards, I was playing with gillingham in league 2, and bought Guly do Prado, who scored 92 goals in one season, so he must be amazing in reality

I was told and posted a week or so ago pelle may not happen as koeman would actually prefer a better quality striker. Pelle is being chased in case other deals do not happen.
