Latest I've heard is that samaras is on his way to saints for a medical, after not getting the game time he was after at west brom

TimTasker94

1.) Please God no he wasn't even good enough for Scottish football surely long already does the job of running about a lot and not much else don't really need another none threatening striker with a woeful goals to games ratio

2.) 07 Jan 2015 18:02:06
So, he is not good enough for WBA but he is OK for Saints!!??

Someone certainly needs a medical.

3.) 07 Jan 2015 18:03:17
I really do hope not. We are a level above that, perhaps 2 or 3 levels. Why would we sign back up players from clubs well below us?

4.) Samaras is a terrible player, Gallagher is a better option.

5.) 08 Jan 2015 14:22:29
this was a story back from the summer. we've moved on and signed tadic and pelle instead. best business we've done in a long time

6.) Don't get upset cyberchris critics will disagree as is their rights. I'm with you on this one with my previous reply and I still state that Llorente is a player that has played at international level and a very good striker that Koeman will only sign if price is right and most importantly if he will suit saints style of play. Looking forward to Man Utd game we will give them a hard time COYR 3pts?

Llorente is coming to saints for £15Million pounds, as Koeman wants another striker

1.) 07 Jan 2015 13:11:59
at least he's already scored at st marys . in a friendly for bilbao

2.) Is this Fernado Llorente who is currently at Juventus? If so he is about 30 and a very good striker that has great heading strength and holds the ball up well. Very capable of scoring and a big strong 6ft 5in target man. Would be a big threat to Pelle. Lots of experience and would be a very good squad addition.

3.) Is this guy Italian he sounds the right type and with loads more exsperience than Pella - which he can learn from. We need someone this transfer window and also a good stand in keeper who is mostly going to be sat on the bench.

4.) 08 Jan 2015 14:24:08
why have people disliked my comment ? lol. he has scored at st marys . marcus liebreer trophy between saints v werder breman and athletico bilbao

5.) 09 Jan 2015 18:19:21
No Trevor99. He's a spansish international. Was part of the Spanish side that won the world cup. He didn't really get many starting opportunities over Torres and David Villa but is no doubt a quality player. He has a lot of competition at Juventus and could see this move happening. Would be a fantastic addition to the squad and really push Pelle for a starting spot. Would love this to happen

6.) If you said 12.5m i would have believed you.

everyone on here seems to be so clueless, wait until the start of the season, then you'll all see the bigger picture.

TimTasker94

1.) Just your few words say it all. Totally agree.

04 Aug 2014 13:08:11
If Samaras signs that will be a top top signing for the club.

TimTasker94

1.) Couldn't agree more. We already know that Pelle will be the main striker so we need someone who is happy to play 2nd fiddle. Samaras's scoring stats could be better, but his hold-up play is excellent, and he has great pace. Good option IMO.

2.) Have you been smoking lads? He is a complete waste of space.

3.) Got some real jokers on here, either that or they know feck all about football. Samaras joins then its a statement that the board really don't give two figs for the supporters.

4.) I agree with Armstrong, no point in signing someone like this, better to sign someone young and up and coming who would be happy to sit on the bench and develop into the first team

Noones even mentioned the fifa fairplay, which means that teams like us can't spwnd huge money on wages.

Very true. Cortese was one of the few chairmen who was against this notion because of that reason amongst others. Until we start playing in Europe (i.e. getting the commercial / sponsorship backing that comes with that) the way Saints will grow as a business is to get players in cheaply and sell them on with the academy products for large margins. As we grow we can accommodate the higher wages demanded, but it is going to be slow and painful for fans to see players become our stars and then move on to the "bigger" teams.

Hes too good for saints or newcastle, he's playing champions league football with dortmund why would he come to saints?, same applies to hernandez, he has interest from far larger clubs.

TimTasker94

1.) So did Ramirez, Lovren, Clyne and a whole host of others, maybe they'd prefer to be playing every week than to be sat on the bench?

2.) Go for Joel Campbell of arsenal instead

Why would united even want him with the players they have got in that position at the moment. di maria, mata, rooney etc, his wage demands by the sounds of things aren't too different to what were paying a lot of the players now anyway, people act like we don't pay decent wages at all which is not the case, from the we save in purchasing the player if it is £9 million that would give you the salary for the player for a couple of years

Connor Wickham is a very good player, he was scoring for fun in the championship at the age of 20, like said before just wasnt ready when he was put into one of the best leagues in the world, i've purchase him on fifa in my first season and I can tell you in a few seasons he gets over 80 overall, no one can argue with that.
