Superb second half very poor first half. I think Ralph is a good fit for Southampton but got it wrong tonight as it should have been a big confidence booster in terms of going 3rd before tomorrow's games. I think that he should have started Ryan at left back and Cedric at right back and if Danso were to play it would be in place of Vestergard. Moving players around in our weakest zone is offering the opposition a great oppurtunity to exploit that weakness and in the overall picture reduce the confidence of other players on the field (poor performance in the first half) . Compare it to other businesses/ team organisations you would stay with what a person is trained/ eperienced to do e. g. If you are a general builder but trained in bricklaying it would be best to leave you to brick laying instead of carpentry your team would then have solid confidence in you knowing that is your best trade/ position I know I sound negative but believe we will do fine but just need to stick with our best team in its best positions.

Let’s be honest he try’s to play players out of position
This has 2 effects and they’re either a positive or a negative
Tonight it was a negative if he plays to many players out of position we will struggle
We controlled 75% of this game and got hit in the break
And punished
We just don’t have the players capable to do the job In Defence
Our defence at times is school boy
We can’t score struggle to defend so its a impossible job.

A disappointing result, but hat’s off to Eddie Howe the South Coast’s Chess Master who has check-mated Ralph On the night with his team selection and astute acquisitions and must surely be a top candidate as a futureEngland manager. However Ralph is still travelling in the right direction and with a few more Pawns exchanged for more Cutting Edge in the January market we will climb back up. However it must be a consolation for Ralph to know he only has to be good at Draughts to beat the Skates on Tuesday night! KOM.

I think the result doesn't reflect well on the performance. Bournemouth were clinical. At the same time they looked dangerous in the first half getting in between Danso and Bednarak on the right side. First goal was from a corner, we zonally marked allowing Ake to attack the ball. For the second goal no one tracked Solanke or Wilson. Third goal was just embarrassing.

My main frustration was the amount of times we were just shooting on sight. Everytime Redmond, Boufal or JWP had the ball outside the box they were just shooting and not opting to work the ball into the box. We had 25 attempts but how many were from inside the box from an opportunity that we had worked?

I would say our second half performance warranted a draw. I think everyone had a good game. Romeu has been superb this season, Boufal and Cedric were 2 players we had out on loan last season were probably 2 of the best players yesterday.

It may be time for SFC to contact Burnley’s Sean Dyche requesting assistance by way of a video detailing how to organise a successful defence. It’s pretty clear that Vestergaard would not feature on current form who in fact would struggle to be selected for most Championship League teams. A class CB. is now an urgent pre-requisite for continued Premiership status. KOM.

Up to just after the half way line we appear to be in command, then comes the dreaded long ball up front. I just don't understand this style of football, as soon as the ball is in the air it is a favoured position for a defender as he is facing the ball. If our own player does get on the end of it the other members of our team will not know where the ball will drop. I am a great believer in playing the Ball on the deck and down the lines then knock the ball backwards for our forwards or midfielders to run on to it and the opposing team are back tracking (on their back foot). I understand you need quick players for this but we do have them. To me the method we are playing shows a lack of intelligence. The top teams in the league do the above succesfully. I will say that Arsenal do this to such an extreme that they try to walk the ball into the net. We will not succeed tonight without some luck or change of play.

Knocked out and gutted - not good enough, too many long balls and no creativity

Don't know if anyone watched the Barnsley / Everton game last night but they showed ( both teams ) what cup football is all about and was a great game to watch . I was amazed how bad we were AGAIN , excuse time is over we are simply not good enough . Pelle was the only player that had any idea . Top 6 finish , in your dreams .

3.) 27 Aug 2015 22:16:23
WOEFUL!!, only Pelle escapes criticism as at least he fought hard and put in a good shift as per usual.
The team wasn't set up "to go for it", and we clearly lack leadership and confidence.
The result however maybe a blessing in disguise and end up protecting our premier league status, but if things continue in this pattern, that will be a dog fight.
I feel more for the die hard supporters who travelled over to Denmark, their effort not reciprocated in any way.

New poster here.
Vic is good at breaking up play but his technical ability in my opinion is poor when he has to pass the ball more than 5 yards or shoot. I remember watching the game at home last season against Everton and Harrison made more tackles than the whole of the Everton team put together. Harrison doesn't have the physical presence of Vic but I feel with the right players around him he should be given a chance. Vic is so called ill maybe tomorrow would be a good chance for the lad to start. It would be interesting to hear what other saints fans think

Totally agree Sammie. I was impressed by Reed almost every time I saw him play last season for U21 or first team. He gets stuck in and passes better than Vic. He deserves some game time

Wanyama is such an underrated player by a lot of saints fans, mainly 'cause most don't understand what he does or expect him to be something he's not. He's not on the pitch to play fancy balls or score 10+ a season, he's there to break up the play & bully the opposition, which he does very well. most compare him to Schneiderlin because they're both 'defensive midfielders' but just like there are strikers there are different types of DM's, Schneiderlin, now Romeu and/Clasie are the 'fancy' ones, Wanyama is the 'simple' one

He's not irreplaceable by any means, there are lots out there like him but he is and has been just as important to the defence as Schneiderlin was and alderweireld supposedly was
