For the right price Walcott would be a step in the right direction. Think a footballer plays best when he's happy and we got him because he actually wanted to come home and welcomed by the fans I can see him banging in goals. The difference between him and Redmond is he doesn't dance around the the box and then shoots like a fairy right at the goalkeeper. People say boufal is the answer as when he comes on shows sparks of genius, these same people forget that when he is given a whole game he only ever shows these brief sparks. I miss the likes of pelle and mane who went direct to goal, no of this silly dancing around in the midfield. Bit of a pass, little link up and go then go for the jugular!

When was the last time Boufal was given a full game though? He needs a run of games, he’s still used to French football where he had all the time in the world and if anyone would breathe near him he’d get a free kick. Get him up to speed with the prem and he’ll be quality.

Doubt Walcott will be an improvement tbh, too much ego in the lad now. Wants to be the main man up front and we can’t offer that and if we paid him what he wanted in wages (not that we could due to the FFP) what message would that send to the other players?

All the fans on here and elsewhere calling for Ralph to be sacked don't know their ass from their ears and are what is wrong with football.

Our collection of players aren't and haven't been top premiership quality for a long time, yet you guys (same as other teams) think we have some divine right to be winning games and challenging higher up the league.

Ralph has been operating on a shoe strings budget pretty much since he got here and therefore hasn't had a decent shot at changing that group of players, instead he's had to work from within and secure deals where he can.

I'm not saying all his signings have paid off, what manager gets signings right 100% of the time (djenpo,Armstrong I'm looking at you) . But when he has got it right he's secured some top signings for next to nothing . Livramento, walker-peters, broja ect.

We've had a long run of managers before Ralph who were giving big backing from the board to spend what they want, Ralph however has been left to pickup the pieces of their riegn.

Ralph should only be judged when he has had decent money to go after the players and team/play style that he looks to employ.

Fans calling for his sack are the reason we end up with idiot managers such as puel, pellegrino, Hughes.

I banged on for a long time about Forster being the better keeper over McCarthy yet there was actually people in here disputing that and calling for McCarthy to for England. Now same fans are calling for Raplhs sack and are going to run our team into the ground.

Not everything is the managers fault. For example.salisu who Raplh signed for most of the season has been a rock, there were talks wether we were going to hold onto him. Now last few games he has a big drop in form and we don't have anyone to replace him. With his drop in form has also come the loss of games .now who's fault is that, Ralphs? No .it's combination of Salisu and the board not giving the funds to have decent cover for Salisu.

All you plebs calling for his sack can screenshot this message, then if he does get replaced, come back to me in 1 one years time and we're see the difference.

Ralph builds teams, develops players .notice how JWP is becoming known as a great midfielder for is whole overall game.

Fans haven't got a f@#king clue these days, it's the same with city. Fans there calling for peps sacking .like, if he doesn't win the pinnacle of football titles, thing that there is nothing higher than in domestic football he's a failures.

Ffs, you people ?

Our team is run into the ground!
We have a manager with plan A and no other plan!
He is simply not good enough for the PL

I’m guessing you don’t watch saints regularly or even at all?
If you think for one minute giving Ralph money to spend, will make him more successful, then you have no idea about football!
The only thing I agree with is Salisu’s drop in form not being Ralph’s fault. I’ll add to this : take one look at his Instagram account - he’s turned himself into a bling wearing ‘star’ . his private less is also less than professional with his love of partying. I might suggest the club look at his Uber account!

Anyway… the old chestnut of throwing money at a problem is something businesses do throughout the world, without sorting out the root problem.
Ralph has had some great additions to his squad since he joined : KWP/Perraud/Tino/Broja/Che Adams/Diallo/Lyanco/Salisu

Plus Ely and Forster back from loans spells .
Tella coming through the ranks .

It was very evident that some key players left with a single word of acknowledgement of Ralph .
Ings . Bertrand . Vestergard.

I am intrigued by what you think Ralph’s qualities are that means with more money, he’d do better?

His team selections are random and often bear no resemblance to player form. ie no matter how well or badly a player plays, if he is picked or dropped is anyone’s guess
His substitutions are bizarre and often have no football logic behind them
His substitutions are bizarre in that often the player he takes off is having a good game, leaving on someone who is playing badly .
His formations are bizarre : playing 5 across the back against teams in the bottom 4
His tactical changes are almost non existent
His changes due to an opponents changes are non existent
His man management is atrocious, often publicly criticising players.
His offering Redmond up for sale, followed shortly by picking him, and then the ultimate crime. taking Che off and moving Redmond up front
Throwing away 80 points from winning positions .

So suggesting it’s a lack of money that is hindering Ralph is, basically wrong!
He has not adapted the the PL, he has not improved his decision making, he is being out smarted by opposing managers every week .

Ralph needs to be removed from Southampton football club!

Oh rubbish look at that .

Lemina comes back in, man of the patch and we get the 3 points.

Keep him in the holding role and an attacking triangle up front and were get there 👍.

Anyone else notice all our record signings sat on the bench last night?

We use to buy players cheap and sell em on big, now we break our budget for below-par players :/

If we are going to spend that money on them should at least play them though, like wtf is with not playing lemina?

532 is what will get us out of this rut, our wingers are rubbish so wingbacks would bring up the slack. Lemina and another holding in midfield with an attacking triangle of tadic, gabbadini and Carrillo 👍👍.

Totally agree with your post.
Fans can see it, why can the manager. Bertrand and Cedric are more than capable of adding attacking flair to the wings while doing defensive duties.

The Silva band wagon is rolling in.

Not sure why though, if he is as good as people think he is why has he allowed to Watford to become so poor. Whether there's interest from other places or not should not be an excuse for team performance.

It's all circumstantial to be honest, look at Koeman - he was a decent manager until he went to Everton. No one knows what Silva would do if he came here. If he has shown he can have a bad time at Watford then he could just as easily do crap here.

MP isn't the answer either don't get me wrong. Although for some reason I do like the guy seems to always be honest with how rubbish things are and that he's trying and learning and he had the balls to take Forster out. We need someone like MP but more in your face and hands on.

There is nothing not to like re mp except the results where are all the attacking players people think we should be playing. Tadic has been poor remind has had his confidence shattered Austin is injured long tries his heart out but is a goal in 6 his career.

Can we now finally accept that we are no longer the team we were or have the same type of players coming through the academy that we did a few years back?! The conveyor belt has come to halt and the selling of our top players means so too has the ability to play attractive football and creative tactics. Pelligrino has us trying to play the way poch/ Koeman did but our team that once could do that has been striped to bones so much that the players left are not capable.

If we going to stick with the players we have then we need someone who is going to grab the team by the balls. That means either pelligrino growing a pair and starts throwing the hair dryers or we bring in someone new. Davis as first coach doesn't cut it for me, nice guy but tactical managing not sure :/ .

My immediate plan of action would be Redmond out or at the most warming the bench, he wanders with the ball with no end product enough (don't care what guardiola says) . Forster I'm sorry dude, you're one of my favourites, but also have been for a while now the reason we've lost points. Teams are no longer scared of you and know to put the ball anywhere in the corner : ( and who the hell is teaching you to punch/ palm the ball away instead of catching easy shots?!

We need to shore up at the back in the meantime maybe 532 hoedt, Stephens, yoshida with Bert's and Cedric on the wing I'd then have boufal and tadic playing right in behind gabbadini as more 2nd/ 3rd strikers so that he is able to get the ball more and not left on his own like always. He's a poacher and he needs feeding.

I've forgotten what I actually came on here to say now, oh yea were shit, please improve, sturridge/ Walcott yes.

Genuinely think relegation and a step back would be the best thing for the club. We'd be able to sell all of the wasted players and start to bring through some of the youth academy.
