Great result tonight and s favourable looking draw in the quarter finals, good to see Fraser Forster back between the sticks and now four clean sheets for him, I hope he gets the game on Sunday. slso a pleasing debut for Salisu, he looks a decent prospect.

Did you feel the same as me re: Redmond and Djenepo. absolutely awful with no end product?
Forster starting to come good, really good! Confidence back . No 1 spot for him!
Salisu good with both feet .

Agree about Redmond. He hasn't progressed at all. Does a lot of huffing and puffing but no end product. Djenepo hasn't had enough of a run in the side for me to make a decision on but he does show occasionally what he can do. I'd put Minamino in instead of Redmond.

Totally agree about Redmond. Not sure about djenepo. He goes passed some really well but isn't consistent and his final decision making is pants most of the time. A certain Mane was very similar when he joined us. Not saying he will be as good, just that he will hopefully improve. Going to eat my words too as FF looks like he is back. Armstrong is vital for us. He lifts the team and drives forward when others are passing sideways.

Very cordial, I agree with everything as well ^^^.

Forster, not having a great deal to do, but he has played and not conceded against Arsenal, Wolves and Liverpool. McCarthy had gotten into the Boruc habit of wandering out of the area and passing it to opposition players. Give Frase a go, at the very least to get McCarthy to get his focus back.

Salisu. Bar the ‘you’re not in Spain anymore, pal’ closing down and hassling, he looked like another super pick. Excellent positioning for crosses, strong off both feet, physical, and just needs to be that bit quicker with the ball.

I’m amazed at how much KWP affects our game plan. For £12m he looks a steal, knows the game plan so well and really good link up with our midfield and playing down the wing.

Redmond is really good at making a run, taking the ball and getting clean through on goal, before deciding ‘what would be more fun is if I let everyone get back into position so I can try and get past them again’ and then do nothing with it. Poor. He can probably go.

Djenepo needs a run, he is very Mane like in that he almost wants to do too much all at once and then can’t make his mind up and then loses control of the ball. But he is at least forward thinking, attacking, and even if it is just once a game, he makes something happen and creates an opportunity. That’s something we haven’t quite found in Boufal and post-Mane so I have hope in him.

We’re still a few players short of a rounded, deep squad, but with Salisu, Diallo, Forster, Djenepo and some kids pushing into that first XI, we are probably a couple of full backs, a midfielder and a forward away from a solid squad.

For the first time in about four years, I don’t think we need a centre back! Bednarek, Vestergaard and Salisu could become future VVDs (hopefully without the sassy exit) .

Agree re. Salisu. He looked pretty solid. He just needs to get up to speed and I think he could be a big asset over the next few years.
