Half time 1-1; we should really have killed this game off already.

Good to see a few yellow cards and Romeu go in early on Hojbjerg but if he now gets sent off it'll look very silly. Also very nice to see the ex Spurs man lift the back over the top to the man Spurs tried to unnerve/ buy who rejected them for the goal.

McCarthy's positioning for the Son goal was awful - he probably could've got to the ball but ran back towards goal and was basically on his left post, not great.

Adams and Djenepo have looked great if lacking the cutting edge. Adams should've scored, but Djenepo is such a livewire in and around the by line.

Spurs should never have a (legal) goal and in the 47th minute of the first half it's criminal because we've been in total control and a lifted ball to Son in behind is what does it.

If we are clinical and play in the same way this could be 3-1, else it may well end up being 1-3.

COYS.

Or 1-4, 1-5, 1-6. Pathetic defending and Spurs are hardly the best team we have to face this season.

The end score 5-2. Playing a high line has killed us. again. Spurs had 6 shots on target and scored 5. It was way to easy for them.

Something needs to be addressed. I don't think signing 2 new CB's would change much of our defence is just going to sit on the halfway line.

Playing the high line/ pressing game doesn't always work as we found out today. When we come up against someone like Son who is brilliant at timing his runs we are done for because our defence are too slow and spend too long ball watching. Normally if your plan A isn't working you revert to plan B. Unfortunately we don't seem to have a plan B. Maureen won the battle of the managers today. I stick with what I said a couple of weeks ago that we still need 2 or 3 quality players to make us into a half decent team, if not I can see this season ending in a fight against relegation. Nice to see Danny grab a couple of goals again but not one other Saints player showed his passion or desire.
