We played well today and it's a good point at Anfield, surely we've got consider giving Gaston a run in the team! He seems fit and sharp, made a couple of good runs in his brief cameo but more importantly he got the assist, he should at least be on the bench IMO, COYS.

Also the work rate was unreal today, I know Mane got sent off but I've never seen him make so many tackles! Credit of RoKo for going for it when we were 1 down too as Gaston and Jaunmi made a difference.

He HAS to show can play for 90+ minutes, not 15/20.

Gaston has a sensible haircut, an assist, his first Premier League game in over 400 days behind him, but he's off in January. His contract is up at the end of the season and is the last of the Cortese era still at Saints.

I thought Gaston got up really well to head the ball across the box, he is a quality player but obviously doesn't fit in to Ronald's plans . However I wonder whether we all may be wrong considering we had other options to put on the bench but he chose Ramirez, seems a bit odd . Shame for Sadio he put a full shift in and with only seconds to go I feel the referee could have just given him a telling off as there was no malicious intention to hurt the player and remember he is a forward player trying to do a defensive job . Too many players being sent off for trivial offences . I have seen many players do much worse but not even get booked through the whole game for CERTAIN clubs .

The referee was a clown. He didn't book anyone until the 85th minute - he'd set the bar for what was or wasn't a bookable offence all game long, and Mane's second booking was never worthy of a yellow card. At least it hadn't been in the previous 89 minutes.

He was just playing to the crowd. I suppose we should all be grateful that he didn't send off Kieron Gibbs instead.

If anything good came out of Sadio's sending off it is that he will miss the Villa game and not a league match . Got a feeling that RoKo may have rested him anyway in the week or may be had him on the bench . Might give Juanmi or Gaston a chance to show their skills against what must be a dispirited side, however, sometimes a wounded animal can be often unpredictable .

We win this cup game and with the top sides likely to play a depleted side in the next round especially if they are still involved in the two European competitions we could genuinely go all the way .
