It's almost 3 AM here but boy was that worth staying up! Every player deserves full credit. Mane was a beast, unlucky with the decisions going against his way, and aside from his speed and attacking instincts, he has improved a lot on his defending, workload and determination.

Really impressed with the way he harassed defenders and gave Cahill a torrid time. His link up with Pelle is excellent, they will be our answer to the Lallana-Lambert axis some time ago. We could've scored 5 had it not been for begovic and some poor finishing but 3 goals is already a great achievement. Pelle held the ball well, his knockdowns were excellent, and he assisted two and got on the scoresheet. Brilliant that guy.

And let's not forget the peach defence who didn't let any shots on target in the second half and were only beaten by a freekick. Wanyama shielded the back four to perfection and Davis brings so much energy. Ward Prowse passing was evident, Romeu also won a few tackles here and there.

Very tenacious player. Van Dijk won everything in the air, solid yet again. I must admit I had my doubts but I'm enjoying my humble pie atm. Fonte reliable as always, great outing for bertrand, and Cedric, one of his best performance so far in a Saints shirt, contained Hazard for the majority of the game.

Nothing to say to Steks, rarely had anything to do but not giving me the same confidence Forster does when it comes to collecting the ball.
Overall great performance, of course the media will focus this on how bad Chelsea played and will not give us any credit as expected. Mourinho's doing his usual post-match rant. Nothing could make my weekend sweeter. Thank you Koeman, thank you Saints!

Completely agree with this.

Mane, Tadic and Pelle were all different class. The whole midfield was excellent, can't remember anyone putting a foot wrong. van Dijk was the best player on the field for the last 30 mins, won everything that came his way. Thought he looked a bit dodgy the first couple of weeks but he's been outstanding today and in the Swansea game.

Brilliant performance today albeit against a dodgy chelsea team, if everything had gone our way it could've easily been a sunderland-esque result

Only thing that can make it sweeter is if England beat Australia in the rugby.

Cedric was outstanding today. Just a few weeks ago the manager didn't pick him against Man United because he didn't think he was defensively good enough.

On today's evidence, Yoshida should never, ever, ever play right back in his place again. He was tenacious, plucky and I don't think he lost a single one-on-one.

Totally deserved three points, regardless of Mourinho's predictable whinging. If we're handing out ghost penalties, Saints should've had two.

I thought everyone was outstanding, Vic, Pelle, Davis, Virgil, Mane, all of them!

{Ed004's Note - I was very impressed with Southampton today. Thought Mane was excellent and it was a fully deserved win}

Anybody who knocks Pelle must me completely mad he was once again absolutely outstanding again . Wanyama to me was the best player on the field , he never let any of their players have time on the ball . Oh and by the way Mane is probably the one player in the Premier League that no defender wants to play against , reminds me a little bit of George Best and that is saying something . Great performance by the whole side .

A very good team performance, every player putting a shift in.
Pelle and Mane were outstanding, and I said in previous posts Van Dijk needs to settle into the PL, and clear signs that he is, were evident.
Chelsea lacked confidence, and we took advantage even allowing a goal start.
All three possible pens, looked pens, though JM only noticed the one. Lol
I do however find it strange that since the female physio issue, Hazard doesn't look the same player, which suggests there is disharmony in the Chelsea camp.
Great win by us though and well deserved.

Interesting that the media are all commenting on Jose and his problems with motivating his squad.

Very quiet about what RoKo did with his players after the win against Swansea and the result it produced. I would have thought that any pundit worth his salt would have ceased upon that particular aspect to add more content to their comments. Just about sums up the knowledge of most football "experts".

Agree entirely Saint Martin , his after game interview motivated the players to show him what they could really do and boy didn't they do it . Great performance and just hope we can repeat it consistently .
