I've been very quiet over the past month, it's time to change that!
What an awful first 45 mins against Eastleigh! Hopefully young Will had enough insight to the squad and its future.
Ramsdale will be sold or a huge loan fee. Bednarek, although on extended leave will be sold, for me a shame. TBH is injured but will be sold, I don't think he's that good a defender in premier league.Manning on extended leave but hopefully RM will buy him for Rangers. Taylor is a really good player, never let us down when played, please keep him. Keep the rest of the defenders as we will need them over the season, Sandi looks quality. Edwards can also play defensive midfield. Keep the midfield and at all cost keep Fernandes and Robinson. Sell Dibling Armstrong Brereton Diaz. Keep Edozie Fraser Archer Stewart . That should add up to balancing the books and, in my humble opinion, leave an extremely competitive squad for 25/26 season.

I wouldn’t be too worried by a July friendly, we had a crap start under Koeman and then had a great season.

Fairly good business so far. It’s funny, looking at our squad I could make a case for selling pretty much everyone, but I don’t think WS will want to be too ruthless.

I expect a keeper in, Ramsdale out. Sugawara, Manning, ABK and THB/Bednarek to go, and a fullback in. We need someone in midfield and Dibling will likely go, hopefully Fernandes stays but feels a long shot.

Given we have such a bloated squad, selling players and saving money for the time being isn’t a bad way to go while WS adjusts to the squad, but looking at it, it looks very championship-ready.

After last season though, expectations are pretty damn low!

Think the squad is on par with our last Championship season and happy we are adding better fitness, speed and physicality to the squad.

Odds and AI have us 2nd but they did last time as well!

Remarkably we have a new 11 fit, bought or returned vs just a few months ago - Bazunu, Quarshie, Sanda, Edwards, Wellington, Edozie, Robinson, Diaz, Armstrong, Stewart and Downs.

Honestly guys - you think we have a promotion challenging squad?

I respect your views but personally I think we’re miles away. The season starts soon and nobody has a clue who is staying or who is going.

The names you fear will go, Ramsdale and Fernandes will deplete us to a level which is at best mid table.

God, I hope I’m wrong.

Hi Millertime,

I can see us reaching the playoffs.

We have championship goal scorers in Armstrong, Stewart and Archer. Downes, Charles and Fernandes (if stays) would be a formidable midfield and if we find a good centre back pairing with perhaps Patterson in goal, that is a decent defence. Plus some wildcards in Matsuki, Robinson and Downs.

Of course, it depends on who stays, finds form and team spirit. Still has the lads running and we played our best football under Strachan and Pochettinho when fit.

Top 3 on paper but can see Ipswich, Leicester, Birmingham, Sheffield Utd and Coventry ahead of us, with more cohesive teams and experience. That leaves us West Brom, Middlesborough, Wrexham and Norwich to beat for 6th.

My big concern is prem potential. Our subs lost us a lot of points, we need 16 prem level players. Can get 7 at promotion with a 100m and 2 loans (if SR learn lessons) .

Do we have 9 in this squad? I make about 4, 7 at a stretch if some develop and find form. (Quarshie/Edwards, Wellington, Downes/Charles, Fernandes, Robinson, Archer/Stewart and Rambo if loan him) Assuming THB and Dibling go.
