Well the takeover is done. 80% shareholder. I fear this is a big mistake and pray to every god ever that i be proved wrong. This is not a billionaire russian/ american/ Arab but a Chinese company that lost money in 2016. Expect VVD to be sold immediately and others on a regular basis. Have a bad feeling about Lander Sports.

Hi guys
Regarding the Takeover it didn't take long for the language to change regarding VVD I know its only roumers but according to Yahoo sports Southampto tell Chelsea and Man City they will have to break the world record for VVD if they want to buy him it was only a week ago VVD is not for sale this summer for any price. Is this a clue to what the future holds for southampton?

disilusioned.

isn't the world record 200 million now? Essentially telling them to stump up more than Neymar for a CB worth 1/ 4 of that at most

If I walked up to you and wanted to buy your car and you told me you wanted, let's say £1,000,000 isn't that essentially telling me to f*** off?

Is demanding a record fee for a player that is going to leave anyway really a problem? I would argue not.

VVD wants a crack at the title, he isn't going to get that at Saints, and he likes the smell of what the Klopp is cooking. Let him go, but for top dollar.

World record for defender not any player, so about 55m.

Still. Free Prawn Crackers at every home game - so it can't be all bad.

The article I read said we'd told them it had to be 70+ million. I'd take that to be fair, but any less and I'd rather just keep him.

Also to the original poster, it's not Lander Sports that bought us. It's the Gao family (Jisheng Gao) privately - don't know if they have any connection to Lander Sports.

Gao is the director of lander but as you say the lander deal didn't happen as difficulties pulling the finance from China so gao and his daughter are financing from personal wealth, lander not involved.

This 80% share deal with Gao sounds good but really in today's terms £210 million pounds seems very little for a PL club with pretty sound finances anyway. I am just wondering whether Katarina is using this as a stepping stone to withdraw completely over the next couple of years.

I feel that having this Chinese involvement may be a way of chucking our cards on the table for speculation from other Asian investors who may want a piece of us in the future. Just an idea of mine which may be completely wrong.

Not Lander Sports Takeover. There not involved! So you can ease your worries :)
