I would like someone from either the club or lander group to come out and tell us how this takeover actually benefits Southampton football club how much money is actually going to go into the coffers for transfers or wages, or is it all going to KL's bank account with her saying thank you very much bye bye, leaving saints for the Chinese takeaway. Can anyone see them turning down 70 million for Vvd and putting the team before profits like this board is doing I bet not.

Who says that accepting 70m for VVD isn't what's best for the club? that's a hell of a lot of money.

Understand your frustration and concern. But think of it in another way; you don't know what the benefits are and neither do our competitors. We should this be public information for other teams to potentially take advantage of?

I'm trusting the board and what they're planning. It's been working very well for a long time now. Can't wait to see what new investment and a new season will bring :)

You forget that Saints is primarily a business and has been all the time KL and Markus have owned it.
They have done a great job in taking us back to the prem, investing in our training and youth infrastructure and clearing debt.
Because the club is a profitable one with potential buyers have shown interest.
The Lander group will have put together a business plan with the hope of healthy profitable exit strategy in around 5 years.
To continue being a profitable club we have to continue being successful.

Cyprus, that isn't necessarily true. The owners, be that KL or whoever will have their own agenda. Saints FC is 2 things. No 1, a football club that performs at a particular level that benefits the FANS. 2. It is a business that benefits the owners. Now the issue here is that the owners, unless they are fans, simply want the club to perform to make money, that doesn't necessarily mean win trophies or get into the champions league. Think of it this way, now I don't know the figures, but let's say for arguments sake that getting into the champions league will earn the club 200m. The owners will look at that as a viable option and will consider the costs that are aligned to that end. I. e. Player fees, wages and so on. If it will cost something in the region of 30m on players and 4m in wages, then it makes good business sense to BUY those players, pay those wages and get that result. But if it costs 300m, then it simply isn't worth it. KL has got he club to a point where it has paid for itself in competition money versus player costs. She can't take it further forward without it actually COSTING money, so in essence, becoming counter productive. Unless she sells the club to a fan who simply has money to burn, the club won't go any further forward. All clubs above us in the league with the exception of VERY FEW of any, are running at a loss. Did Manchester United really make 85m back after signing pogba? Probably not, will they make the 75m back after buying lukaka? Probably not. Man City and Chelsea are owned by fans who just want to throw money around, abramovic must have blown hundreds of millions on Chelsea and hasn't seen a profit from his investment. We, the fans, want the club to push on, but it's the owners who make that decision and if they decide to sit tight on a top half premier league team, creaming the profits from player sales and competition money, then there is absolutely nothing we can do about it.

70 million is a lot of money yes but not when you take off agents fees players loyalty bonus ( that's a laugh when they engineer a move without actually putting in an official request ) then the price of the replacement goes up because we've supposedly got all that money.

i would like to see what we can do if we can hold (and improve) a team together we are always on the verge of something big, let go for it.
the other point is yes we are a business and a profitable one and that is all downs to the liebermans but the point is we are in profit so why sell especially to lander group who are not a profitable company and aren't going to bring anything to the party.

186 million profit on a 14 million buy is a great deal but to markus saints were more than just a profit and loss mark on a piece of paper he cared about our club just like we do.

even that mug from disney held a meeting with the slime from down the road to explain what he wanted to do with the mike mouse club i'd like lander group to do the same we want to know what's going on.

Agree sfc I'd like to see us keep him (if for no other reason than that his value will be the same next year since he's got 5 years to run on his deal), point I'm making is a logical argument can be made that selling him is what's best for the club.
