southampton are considering a move for porto defender bruno martins indi.

he played under koeman at feyernoord last season.
saints scouts have been watching him throughout his first few months in portugal.

he can play left back or centre back. but southampton will wait until the end of season, before making a move.

I'm sure they'll have identified alternatives should Alderweireld not sign up permanently. Martins Indi makes sense, but he won't come cheap.

Can't see them going for him if Toby is retained, along with Fonte, Yoshida, Gardos and the returning Jack Stephens. How many centre backs do you need?

Also Turnbull to come back from Swindon. It's cover at right back we need. . plus another striker.
Whoever decideds to leave will be replaced but not until the summer.

Sorry to say but Indi and toby at centre back would push us on as a club.

James, presumably the World Cup passed you by? ;-) He played in every game for Holland, including being part of the defence that kept clean sheets against Costa Rica, Argentina, and Brazil. He looked big, strong, quick and is young. He'd be perfect for us and I think would be a massive coup for us, albeit very unlikely. I am hoping to be very pleasantly surprised!
