Players don't request transfers these days. That voids their oxymoronic "loyalty bonus". They just tell the club they're off, make it happen, give me my money.
Disappointing, if true, about Wanyama. Puts the club in an awful position as he's a key player who won't be easy to replace at such short notice, yet if they try and keep him for another year, his value will drop off massively by the time they inevitably have to sell him next summer with one year left on his contract.
What do you do? Judging from his performances against Everton and Midtjyalland, he's more than happy to phone it in and go through the motions, so holding onto him against his will might not get the same professional (eventually) response as they got from Morgan.

There needs to be more stringent rules in place to protect smaller clubs against bigger clubs poaching their players. But If we're offered 20m+ for Wanyama, I'd take it. Yes he's very physical but technically he's not that great. So I def think he is replaceable.

I don't think he is a 20mil+ player though and I certainly don't think Tottenham will part with more than 15mil for him

That saints have had an offer for Osvaldo accepted by Roma
18 million on a 4year worth 2.5 million
Plus news conference called at st marys I hope there is a connection.
1.) Just to let people know, from now on until the end of the season there will be a news conference called on Thursdays at St Marys most weeks.
It is to discuss the upcoming game!
From what I can glean - and it is all just Internet research only - Osvaldo does not want to come to Saints, so do we really want a player at the club who doesn't want to play for us because we can't raise his profile?
If this is true I'm really not sure.

Reports that Saints are in pole position to sign Frederik Sorensen from Bologna. He is 21 and plays in the centre of defence
1.) Dont need him got class cbs already dotn need another one we need wanyama/banega and damaio done that's were we need and who we need simple after them then ye shore someone else but not another cb I rate jos and yoshida fonte looks like he's going to watford but lovren, forren, yoshida, hoovield, stephens don't need anymore
2.) Love it to be true but u doubt it as we already signed lovers and doubt we will spend 7 plus mil on a player we don't need
3.) As he said. Our defence is looking quite good.
What let us down towards the end of last season was lack of options up front and a lack of a killer edge.
We need to sign for positions that are going to help us score more goals now.
4.) This lad is a different class and can play LB. Jose (great pro) but European quality? Hooiveld surely on his way. We've got a few in the position but this would be a great signing

6.) This rumour has been around for about 12 months. Do we have a quality CB who is that sort of age? No, we don't. Could be one brought in to develop for the future.

7.) Jack Stephens is actually quite highly rated himself. Although I think this guy would be an amazing signing as he could also cover Clyne for the right back role as well as being a further top Centre Back option.
8.) Would rather spend the money on Micah Richards and have him as a starting centre back. He could then be used as cover for clyne in RB. Forren as cover (who I still think the gaffer doesn't rate or he would have started late in the season. All this agreed holiday stuff to me smells of Bulls**t) plus Yosh as cover. Whatever the outcome I still think we need a new quality CB.
9.) Think I was right about Forren then!

Hi to all you saints fans out there. This is a sad statement. I am the uncle of Jason who was attacked in Hythe and is now fighting for his life in southampton general. I ask that you all say a prayer or spare a thought for him. Thankyou.

not sure what pain killers he is on. I agree with Chris Downs post, we have ended up with a mediocre team.
The results from the final quarter of last season and games this season so far are worrying. apparently we have 40 million in the bank, no bloody good there if it turns out to be a disastrous campaign.All you experts out there must see we need quality signings Now.
RK needs to sort out things with Les Reed pronto.

Thanks gwertyell for printing the stats, after the performances of late I was wondering how many points we had collected since the turn of the year. I am trying to stay possitive thou. I agree it is worrying, we had a fantastic start if this is reversed next season and with the addition of euro football I think we may struggle.
