And imbula was banded around. glad we didn't go in for him aswell.

2.) 03 Oct 2016 15:07:01
There were a LOT of players that people thought we should have been signing, purely for the fact that someone else wanted them too. whether it's there quality, or temperament or personality or maybe a lack of consistency in their game I hope this is proving to our fans that the club knows what it's doing when it comes to player transfers. No more slating the board please.

3.) 05 Oct 2016 10:41:43
Yeah course. Because our key signings did great for us didn't they? Osvaldo, Juanmi, Ramirez. Mane, Wanyamma. we all sign players with promise that either work out and leave or don't work out at all.

4.) 05 Oct 2016 10:57:03
You think they would be the same players if they played and trained for us?

As a club we do get more out of most then other teams.

As I write, I am torn. saints twitter feed has been all about soares. Nothing about fonte. I am torn because I would have liked the club to reassure us about both returning heroes.

As it is there is a lot of speculation about fonte going to Everton or man utd? While I respect the fact that we might get 9 million for a 30 something that can't go on forever and my head tells me that this is great business. My HEART is dying.

Fonte is the last representative of our journey back. He is our beacon of loyalty. He reps what can be achieved if you stick with saints. He is the living embodiment of the saints way. A man who has now reached a professional high despite the fact he is in red and white stripes. Please stay Jose. Surely we can pay you what you deserve for all the joy and loyalty you have given us?

I wouldn't worry too much. Everton were in for Williams and Swansea said no. They are getting desperate because, apart from wages they have little to attract players. Fonte will want to lead us into Europe and I think a new wage deal will secure his services.

2.) 03 Aug 2016 11:59:25
Anybody else still chuckling that Koeman left for this 100 million transfer kitty? its going to great use currently.

3.) 03 Aug 2016 13:12:57
Yes, I can't see why anyone would want to join Everton. They don't have anything to play for. They haven't shown any progression. At least we've only showed really good progression since we came back up.

4.) 03 Aug 2016 13:53:34
My heart AND my head says it would be terrible business. He's what holds our defence together and he has several seasons left in him. He's our club captain also, meaning that letting him go would cause severe discontent throughout the club's people and through the fans.

All that for 9 million? To lose him to another PL club?
That would be completely stupid. But then again that's what worries me. I'm hoping that the success of our gambles in the past, which each have more or less been necessitated and insured, hasn't given our board a false sense of security when it comes to things like this.

Passionate post St templar and good reading. Unfortunately in the modern game loyalty is out of the window. Only one player that I've had the pleasure and fortune to watch and had total loyalty was Matt le Tissier . The most gifted as well. Pelle went to China - not to further his career but 260,000 reasons per week .

Koeman went to Everton not because they were the better club but a 6 million reason contract. The list of players from saints that joined the exodus and reasons is endless. I personally think that there will be no further exodus this season only additions. We can only sit back and see. Keep the faith st. templar I and many others are with you in thought.

Welshgirl, totally agree with your post, especially regarding Matt
But a very different era indeed now.

Hull's goals were great. SOMETIMES you just have to accept!!? THAT'S why the prem is so marketable. We are competing on more fronts than ever. puell and the board are doing a great job. we were better but lost. The squad. The management. Are coping with everything we are getting thrown. accept the setbacks.

Love it when the season is closed but the window is open. Watch you all with equalling levels of incredulity and overwhelming optomism. We knee jerk. We moan. We praise. But we all pull for the same thing. Our amazing football club.

Please please understand that our club is now being run profitably. Understand that we have a totally transparent strategy for our future development. That we now have a board that is in tune with the fans (even if they don't show it exactly when you demand! )
We know who we are. We know where we want to go. We all want the same thing. You need to get behind everything. If I see one more person moan about the shirt, or our deal with underarmour. If I see one more person moaning about our deal with virgin. Or our lack of ambition.

All really sound business. 7 consecutive improvements. Enjoy. Or just.

Yeah since our brexit vote the pound dollar and euro are pretty much the same. Fuels gone up though. Everything we import has. Puel is pretty much the same. No inflation there.

Spurs are a good side. They did to us what a good side should down to ten men. We are the 7th best team. That's where we will finish. That is the best we can manage year on year with the current business model. That will still be above Everton. And that is still progress. I understand that expectation is higher. I understand that fans expect us to keep our best. But, for the moment that is how we will do things. Sustainably and within our means. Stop kneejerking. Oh and by the way it seems like the liebher family have decided that the Chinese are not fit and proper.

Not posted anything since the wanyama transfer saga from celtic. Because I've had nothing real to post. But trust me, I am always on the site looking!! I hate all the knee jerk stuff I've seen in the last few years.the lack of trust in the board, the owners and even the manager and players, has always saddened me.our progression has been outstanding. Despite our best players being sold. We still have a plan and the staff in place to carry it out. I saw us achieve something extraordinary today. We will live on it for some time. I implore all of you to understand who we are, where we are, where we are trying to go. And to trust the guys in charge of our great great club to get us there. Think about it. Lallana was liverpool's best player today!! We beat them!

I really hope Leicester or Tottenham win the title this brilliant year. The big eyes will be elsewhere in the summer. The whole reason we are not in the top 4 is the lack of continuity we have had to suffer. Nobody looked at the pair of them.I should include West ham as well.

Despite the deconstruction of our team year on year, we are still top 8. Well done everyone. Ffs believe. And for christ's sake, stop bleating.

Rant over.
