If we have really agree 3m and kwp for hjoberg that is rubbish business.

Saints0001

1.) 04 Aug 2020 21:34:44
I know I have been reading about this tonight and whilst I am happy to be seeing the back of PEH and welcoming KWP I was expecting a bit more money. I suppose until the deal is done we will not know what the add ons are. Providing it’s not Spurs winning the league we should get a few extra quid. Excited to be bringing in KWP as he looks hungry to play and exciting to watch. He fits our profile of young players. Glad to see Vokins sign a new deal today as well as I think he has a bright future even if the short term is learning of Bertrand.

2.) 05 Aug 2020 01:55:28
It dumb to accept that but may not have another option to cash in on PEH. Was hoping we would do something like at least $10 million + KWP not pretty much a straight swap. I hope we still get another RB in as I am (probably in the minority) who doesn't think KWP will solve our RB problems.

3.) 05 Aug 2020 09:14:04
Adam Blackmore tweeted last night saying that this wasn't the case. Looks like we're holding out until Spurs are closer to our valuation.

I'd rather us sell PEH to another club for what we want and sign a different RB for the same value. It would be a shame because KWP looked great for us towards the end of last season.

4.) 05 Aug 2020 13:23:16
Marty cash or the Dutch youngster look good. Think kwp got lucky a few times looked a bit light weight and his pace got him out of trouble. Looks like reed will go to Fulham if we get 8-10 for him and ship a few of the loans out bringing in say 15-20m and vestergard goes 15-20m then new Cdm American youngster linked Salisu And we could look strong with space for some youngsters.
Outs foster Carrillo Lemina hoedt boufal Reed.

5.) 06 Aug 2020 10:02:42
It's been reported that Fulham have offered £12M for KWP.

6.) 06 Aug 2020 13:34:30
it's 20 million plus performance related add ons for Hojbjerg

12 million bid for KWP has been accepted, saints pushing for him to sign a 5 year deal but not finalised yet.

7.) 07 Aug 2020 12:29:58
20 million? where did you hear that? its being reported 15 million with some add ons, well that's all that I have read. I think its a little disappointing from saints point of view.

8.) 07 Aug 2020 17:09:20
I heard the same as you Ben. Basically Spurs value PEH just £3M more valuable than KWP.

9.) 07 Aug 2020 18:54:02
Nothing concrete but Spurs sources are claiming £15mil + add ons Southampton sources are claiming £25mil + add ons, truth is it’s probably £20mil + add ons.

Any news in if any of the transfer targets or buyers of the club are genuine Ed's.

Saints0001

{Ed002's Note - I really have no idea what you are talking about. I am not aware or any offers to buy the club. Sorry.}

1.) 03 May 2020 21:09:08
Fake news about Gao trying to sell his stake in the club for half his original asking price.

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of that.}

15 Dec 2017 11:14:54
So Eds any news on ins and outs VVD on the move?

Saints0001

{Ed002's Note - A tough one at this time. There is a chance VVD will leave in January but it is always difficult commenting on the timing of transfers. The club has looked at forwards - Paco Alcacer (F) has been trying to force a move out of Barcelona and they will accommodate that once they have a replacement - the summer would be more likely and although Southampton and Everton are interested, he will have potentially more attractive options elsewhere. Also, Mohamed Elyounoussi (F) has been watched on a couple of occasions recently

Ben Godfrey (M) a potential summer target for several PL and Championship clubs, including Southampton.}

1.) 17 Dec 2017 12:31:03
Many thanks.

14 Nov 2017 07:26:49
So ED'S any ins or outs you think will happen surely VVD to Liverpool has to start as with a new window the tapping up is a thing of the past and they can make an offer without fear of a complaint.

Saints0001

{Ed002's Note - Why would the "tapping up" be a thing of the past? The complaint still sits on file. They formally withdrew all interest at the same time they apologised - would they be withdrawing their apology? If so then an offer is possible butLiverpool have been looking elsewhere at centre backs. Southampton want to add a striker - Paco Alcacer has been trying to force a move out of Barcelona and they will accommodate that once they have a replacement - the summer would be more likely and although Southampton are interested, he will have potentially more attractive options elsewhere. A loan for Stevan Jovetic has been suggested but if he moves I think Newcastle will provide a home, thereby freeing up Aleksandar Mitrovic who would be a good option.}

1.) 14 Nov 2017 15:20:33
thanks Eds I assumed clearly wrongly that they could argue a change of position now its a different window and make some reason without fear of reprisal. As no formal offer was put forward I thought it would be difficult to prove rumour and speculation. Would love Mitrovic who has masses of potential would be cheap but is clearly a bit hot headed. Be nice to see a saints forward roughing up the defence for a change, he could develop into anything so potential which suits the model.

{Ed002's Note - It wasn't rumour and speculation, Liverpool again acted illegally and what Klopp did was entirely unacceptable. If they wish to finally make an offer for the player the owners who yet again trailed slime to the door of another side to give a grovelling apology in order to avoid charges will be an absoolute laughing stock. The complaint remains on file.}

2.) 15 Nov 2017 11:53:37
Finally, after all the speculation I was wondering where are we are all at?
As supporter's in this day and age should we remain loyal to players? Like the old days. Through think and thin or should we adapt to the mindset of players like v. v. d who clearly felt our club had or has no real desire to truly win anything over the need to make a profit first and full most!

What am I talking about? Well in my view I am bother that Shane long works like a dog in every match but hasn't been effective in doing his job ( scoring goals or helping others to score. ) yet the club sold Saido Maine who scored goals for fun without continuely work as hard in every match! as long does. Le tiss never worked hard but was supremely effective in scoring goals!

Selling saido has taking us backwards and down the league
yet our club had the so called blackbox that identify's the quality of each player. cross refrancing their quality's and desided to sell the best player of the pair for a hugh profit.

Isn't fair then that V. V. D saw this too and asking himself what are his dreams and desires. And isn't it our job to point this out to the club and ask why?

It makes no sense why let Koeman go year before his contract was up! just to cash in. While forcing another person to remain at the club he no longer wishes to be at?

It seems to me we should be asking these types of questions at the board and I am wondering our we going repeat this all over again now the club has new owners who as business minded people may wish to seek a return on their investment over the next few seasons. This the loop continues.

3.) 16 Nov 2017 16:50:11
4thelove, how can you have so little understanding of what has happened with our club in recent years with regard to koeman etc?

4.) 18 Nov 2017 11:14:14
Sorry but I am at a loss to your meaning in your reply. If you could explain why you believe I have little understanding as to what has been going on at the club we love and support.

All I am saying our club bangs on about it's blackbox using it as they do to identify the players they wish to bring into the club to help improve our team and to monitor the players we already have.

As far as I can recall Saido never asked to move on and Shane long has never scored more then 15 goals in a season so why sale saido and not long first? Saido is clearly the younger and better player.!

As for Koeman the club needs to be consistent in their approch and actions.

Koeman said himself he expected Southampton to say we are not releasing you from your contract.

Fair play to our clubs board they did say they longer wished to sale our best players at the end of last season and they stuck to their word hugh progress in that regard. But a lot of damage was done. If they continue sticking to these new approch and slipping back to old ways.

Players need faith in their teammates, manger and club alike I like to think loyalty counts for something but the last time it happen at our was when we wentdown to league one and we asked Kevin Davis to stick with us!

The new owner's will no doubt look to get their 200 million at some point but we need to pressure the board don't to do it the same way by undermining clubs currant outlook saling our better players. A ruthless approch is needed sale players quickly that don't match expectations centre forward should be scoring at lease 15 goals a season subject to injury. Shane long isn't that good of a player full stop. We should sale him in the summer and try and buy Tim winner.

{Ed001's Note - Sadio did ask to move on, just like he did when he joined you in the first place, after going on strike at RBS to force a move through.}

16 Oct 2017 14:14:24
Reading the Liverpool forum and they are still desperate for VVD it seems. Also Clyne is being slated and they inference is as soon as they can he will be sold on as he is not wanted.

Saints0001

1.) 16 Oct 2017 23:08:22
I feel for luke Shaw. he's been publicly torn to shreds and looks broken. I know his 100 grand a week and perhaps questionable attitude but his talent is undeniable. hopefully he can find fitness and maybe a move that suits him.

2.) 17 Oct 2017 10:01:30
Luke Shaw .
At Southampton he was treated the Southampton Way, treated as a young man, a young man with exceptional talent . who played his heart out for us, was rarely injured or missed a game, who's fitness was never in doubt as he bombed up and down the wing = England left back.
I followed him on twitter . a game of bowling with his buddies, Nandos with his mates, golf with his mates . all the things that a 17/ 18 year old should be doing!
He moves to Manchester . what do they do, shove him in some plush City Centre hotel to live . only 'mates' around, not real mates but footballers who regard themselves as celebrities! I think the first event he attended was a boxing match (from memory) where all the Man U players had ring side seats .

That same evening there were a few of Saints players in Ceno's sat eating, chatting, no show offs, just sensible guys having a chat and giggle .

So from young man going to Nandos with his mates, playing xbox . to part of the Marketing Giant that is Man U .

He was still a boy . sad . great player . great attitude.

{Ed001's Note - Clyne was similar, moved to Liverpool and it all went to his head. The clubs made a mess of things in both cases.}

3.) 17 Oct 2017 16:38:49
It is such a shame .
I look ay Lemina we have just signed from Juventus, articulate, sociable, cheerful . plays his heart and socks off .
It seems for us, that character is a huge part of the selection process and then they are encouraged almost into a family way .
Luke Shaw didn't go from being injury free, very fit, England left back to this . shame .
Clyne was also superb .

Am sick if the Southampton academy rhetoric we have 20-23 year old on loan if they are not good enough now they prob never will be.

Last year we had harry Lewis mcarthy stayed on the pitch injured cost us points then we signed a 39 year old free to play. Play em or selle m it isn't difficult

So with the possibility of both Lyanco and Mateusz being shipped out to Turkish Club Goztepe (which reportedly has links with Sport Republic)to accomodate our reserve players -Will Ralph be following? Will another Central Defender be required ( assuming that Simeu is not quite ready)?Purely as a suggestion how about 23year old Chile Int. Ben Brereton Diaz being signed from Blackburn Rovers to form a twin strike force with Adam Armstrong (who many of us realised was never ‘blooded’ anywhere near enough last season due to lack of foresight from the selectors when a golden opportunity presented with the dramatic loss of form from Broja.It seems ludicrous to suggest loaning him out approaching his prime years particularly paired with the likes of Diaz (who have played together at Blackburn and have an existing understanding.In my view it would be an innovative signing not only in Saints level of purchase but a replacement for Long,Walcott and Redmond .

2.) 28 Jun 2022 09:28:14
Heh Johnnyst, been a while!
Come what may, we need to get rid of Long and Redmond and as for Walcott, he was one of the worst deals the club has done in years.
Watching what’s going on in the transfer market, we are conspicuous by our absence - no presence, not even speculation about incoming players.
It seems the gap between us and mid table sides is growing wider.
Happy to be blown away by a marque signing though which has been kept under wraps!

3.) 28 Jun 2022 16:56:28
Hi Johnny and Miller!
I just can’t be bothered to post about our purchases, or lack off!
Lyanco going out on load, Stephens being offered for sale, Bednerek wants out! Salisu not the player he was!
How can you ship out someone like lyanco, who not only had a bad injury, but was played in a back 3,4&5 and playing alongside a random selection of players, including Valery, who incidentally is being chased by Marseille!

Our buying ‘formula’ seems a bit like Ralph’s random team selections .

Nothing else to say

4.) 29 Jun 2022 01:44:20
Good Tidings both Millertime and south hants Rich- glad to know there’s still some sanity about the place! Ralph promised last season (and the two before that) to “Get Business Done Early”this window with identified targets after last seasons fiasco.Whilst we started well panicking Ralph seems to be pointing in a different direction every five minutes which appears far from organised.Does this indicate that previously identified targets have refused us or are suddenly ‘Not Available’?Whilst admitted a certain amount of guarded secrecy is required when at least 7/8 new players are required to reverse last season’s catastrophe-time is beginning to run down quickly now before August7.It becomes a bit of a worry when Ralph has to construct practically a new team within this time frame when he didn’t appear to know his best team each week last season! Perhaps Ruben SELLES will arrive in time to guide a helping hand.

5.) 29 Jun 2022 10:28:22
Transfers start from 01/07/ due to contracts and loyalty payments etc I just hope we don’t take loans if there is no buy option. Paying a fee to develop others players is pointless

23 Aug 2021 13:52:11
What is going on with Stuart Armstrong can't believe Theo starting ahead of him.

Saints0001

1.) 23 Aug 2021 16:03:50
Apparently he has a minor calf problem but there are also whispers about him being transferred.

2.) 24 Aug 2021 13:55:01
Swapsie for Christie? Maybe SA is homesick or for personal reasons.

3.) 24 Aug 2021 18:08:41
Or like Bertrand and Ingsy, they were fed up playing under Ralph ….

18 Jun 2018 09:19:06
mitrovic anyone for 20m seems a good deal also proven in England already how he can't get in Newcastles team is beyond me.

And they want £30 million for him.

In one word: CRAZY.

Whatever we are to do this window do it and live in otherwise 3-4 games played and no players brought in. Don't wait do your business and move on for once.

He was rubbish for the last 9 games tapped up? Or thought he’d done enough? Time will tell should’ve dropped him earlier if he couldn’t be arsed that’s the trouble with loans. He won’t score 15 next year wherever he is. Would rather we played Armstrong who will still come good once he wasn’t staying.

Bruno Fernandes wants a foul ole backs him Jesus what is wrong with these people never a foul this year or last year. Ole has the two most overrated midfielders in the league in Fernandes and pogba.

Alcaraz lavia jwp two new signings with che up front. Edozie and orsic for a change up top with Mara and Armstrong for fresh Legs. Still leaves Dcc and Tino when fit and s armstrong

Big Sam who quit football to be a poker player we can still possibly get out of this and IF we do we have a hell of a squad for next season. Get behind the team selles for now and maybe till the end of the season we had Ralph out then Jones out not long ago purl out Norman and Poch walked for greener pastures. We need stability

They have invested massively in the club nearly every player they have bought is worth a profit. I know we fans pay to watch but our investment is minimal compared to theirs. Bad decisions happen get over it some if the comments on here and twitter are turkey shocking. Get behind the team and back who ever is in charge or owning and investing
