Hi chaps
just a question, what other decent managers are free at the moment. the only one that springs to mind is zidane! just feel hughes is not the right guy.

This is the question nobody ever seems to think about when talking about firing a manager!

Can't think of many either to be honest. Allardyce and Moyes spring to mind, but I don't find either of them particularly inspiring.

2.) 26 Sep 2018 16:29:29
Forget Allardyce and Moyes, they must surely be done at the top level.

The club should be looking for a Poch Mk II. Take a risk on fresh ideas. I'd heard that we were in with a shout of landing Bielsa. If that's true, why didn't we get him? I can only imagine the board thought he was too much of a risk.

It's frustrating to see managers like Wagner, Espirito Santo, Gracia coming into the Prem and playing interesting football and getting results (you know, like we used to) while we pay a dinosaur a fortune to bore the rubbish out of us.

I don't care who it is or where he comes from, I want an inspiring manager with a bit of fire in his belly, someone who can make the squad play as more than the sum of its parts, not less.

3.) 26 Sep 2018 17:19:49
maybe Paul Sturrock or Steve Wigley? At the rate fans are wanting to sack managers we'll be going back to that era where we went through 6 managers in under 2 years.

4.) 26 Sep 2018 18:00:28
Can't say that was entirely down to the fans and nor would this be.

5.) 26 Sep 2018 20:57:07
There's a few free managers that have managed different clubs outside of England. Here's a few of them:
- Ralph Hasenhüttl - spent the past 2 seasons at Leipzig
- Vincenzo Montella - previously managed Seville last season, but has also managed AC Milan and Fiorentina
- Markus Weinzierl - managed Schalke.

6.) 26 Sep 2018 21:54:35
Maybe a bit left field but what would people think about Steve Holland? Not sure if he's looking for a management role at all but he continued his work as assistant manager at Chelsea whilst working as England U21 Assistant Manager although that role is a little different to management and he may want to focus fully on this England project for as long as it lasts before committing his full time and attention to the possibility of management. If he was interested though, he ticks a lot of boxes.

7.) 27 Sep 2018 17:17:22
Apart from the box which says : Is he a football manager?

8.) 29 Sep 2018 17:03:45
Upon reflection and today’s game he probably wouldn’t do any worse.

17 Sep 2018 20:46:53
Pierre Emil Hojbjerg. You are a flipping legend. what a goal. redderz has been awesome so far as well love it.

1.) 17 Sep 2018 21:33:55
Our most improved player totally demanding in midfield
He’s had some confidence boosting seasons which have to be honest pushed him at the moment to our best midfielder
Ledge status atm.

2.) 17 Sep 2018 21:49:18
All that only to be ruined by JWP. Really don't rate him and this only makes me feel he is less and less a good fit for us. Maybe I'm just over exaggerating though.

yeah I agree
seems his only use is set pieces but doenst offer anything else really in open play.

Yep agree with you figo. I wondered why not a single defensive substitute came on after 2-0. we had Gabbi, Davis and JWP who gave the pen away. why did we not see Yoshida or targett? . seems obvious that brighton will try and win set pieces after their first goal. coaching does seem a bit crazy.

Yep I agree with both comments there. i'd like to see Jaidi given a chance, he's clearly doing well with the u23s. I feel that Hughes only kept us up because he has a lot of grit, and injected belief into the players. However he does not seem to have any tactical nous, and planning for a whole season, and then individual games, seems way to much for him. I would like to see Gabbiadini start more but also armstrong. The current formation does not really allow them both to start. I like the two striker thing, especially ings, but in order to get armstrong in i'd like to see this:
Cedric Bednarek Vestergaard, Bertrand
Lemina Hojbjerg
Elyounoussi, Armstrong, Redmond
The problem with this is no second striker, but it would be nice to see more goals from wingers, especially redmond on the form he's in. Also can we please get rid of Long?
