Well done and another win the only downside this week is the Ross Stewart situation, I just hope that we don't buy another striker in a panic, one I would quite like is Baily Cadamatari who is a young lad but shows a lot of potential

Where was Ross Stewart tonight not even on the bench, have we bought another dud and if so do we go again in the transfer window, as for the game our lack of a second goal left us vulnerable as previously, whilst our league position is good it could be so much better if we had won games rather than draw ie Rotherham and Huddersfield, if we do go again in the window who will leave to make room in the squad

Let's give Russell Martin a chance, at this stage it is unclear what players will be coming and going I feel that we need a real leader to replace JWP who despite being a good player was not the leader from the front that we need also can anyone shed any light on Saluso position as he seemed to have disappeared last season
1.) 10 Jul 2023 16:31:00
I believe it was because of his attitude. I could be wrong don't shoot me

One look at Salisu's social media will tell you that he has become the Insta man . posing in bling . posing in very expensive outfits . posing full stop . I also know that his social life became even more important than football, arriving home from partying in london at about 7am on a Saturday morning . yes we were playing that day! And he was sluggish and rubbish!
It’s like Obefemi (spelling) huge problems with his discipline . including staying out in southampton way beyond the times he was supposed to be, being late often .
Southampton are excellent at looking after the personal development of young players .
Starting with a ‘foster’ family, sometimes with another player there.
Once they had shown discipline, respect .! including cleanliness, time keeping . they are allowed to move in with other players, mostly close to or near the training ground .
Then the next stage is to be able to move to (often) ocean village, where they can live alone or with other player.
guess what … even when Obefemi was in the first team, he still lived with a family! Says it all .
Go check out lyanco social media .
Family . football . god!
No bling ., no rubbish .

Further to recent reports I truly hope that SFC have learned from their recent transfer market catastrophes. Now with significant funds expected from Player exits plus the Leagues parachute payment Saints have ONE MASSIVE OPPORTUNITY to acquire TOP QUALITY PLAYERS and (OVERLOOK VERY ORDINARY BENCH WARMERS) in OUR quest to assemble a team capable of shaking up the Championship and potentially Premiership capable. With some good Players retained plus a host of YOUNG PRODIGIES champing at the bit I am convinced. that a squad filled with a far. better attitude and effort than last season combined with improved Coaching under the stewardship of Russell Martin the SFC future could be bright indeed.

{Ed001's Note - come on man, don't hijack a thread with a completely unrelated subject. This is not the place for it, it should have its own thread if you want to discuss it.}

Apologies-Iwas showing my admiration and support for Saints Football Legend Matt Letissier-man.
{Ed001's Note - not a problem but it is just not the right thread for it. It is a completely separate topic. And it is too fractious a topic to really be able to just meld in together without causing issues. It really needs its own thread.}

In retrospect I agree with you.

Well done for getting a point today, outstanding performances from Bazuna and the defence, however scoring still seems to be the issue despite playing against 10 men for most of the game,if we can survive this season. this team with an additional striker could do very well
27 Aug 2022 15:01:47
Good performance today against Man UTD, very unlucky not to get a penalty for handball and maybe substitutions made a bit too late, otherwise I was very impressed with the team who all worked really well and once they click we should enjoy some decent results
1.) 27 Aug 2022 21:51:16
Is we had a prolific striker we definitely would have won that game today. I hope we look at that game and think if we can get a serial goal scorer in the side then we could quickly rise up the table.
The last part of the jigsaw, so come on saints I know this will cost a big sum to get that striker but let’s do it now to make the most of all the other good signings we have made so far
{Ed014's Note - you were by far the better team Ben and you just needed a few of the many chances to come off.
2.) 28 Aug 2022 07:25:12
Well played Saints-agree with both Norfolk and Ben everyone played to their full potential with effort and deserved at least a point. To improve and progress further (to be critical) we definitely need a swift fast thinking attacking midfielder in place of Elyounoussis/S Armstrong,a lively. free scoring c/forward to support Che with Armo on the left and super sub Mara champing at the bit on the bench.Time is fast approaching when a possible upgrade willl be necessary on Ward-Prowse who sometimes appears half a yard too slow these days.Meanwhile Ralph keep listening to your Coaches and miracles may happen!

Looks like Wolves have got Kalajdzic, Delap went to Stoke, Hudson-Odoi off to Germany and apparently Belotti, Gakpo and Ramon have all said no.
If we're getting a striker / AM it looks like it must be another under the radar job.

Most disappointed to see Charley Alcarez go out on loan, in my opinion one of the best young talents we have had at the club for a very long time, let's hope that this does not affect our season and that the Management know what they are doing
02 Jan 2024 10:37:23
Yesterday's game was an example of two different styles of football with saints seemingly hPpy to keep the ball without ever producing the killer pass whilst norwich were playing mainly on the break and looking dangerous when they did, it seems saints really struggled to break them down and the old problem of not scoring when overwhelming in position showed up again .Team selection again seemed unbalanced with our main striker Adams and our most creative midfielder Alcaraz not starting .To gain promotion a regular striker must be signed urgently and not wait until the end of the transfer window happy new year to all saints fans everywhere
04 Nov 2023 14:25:14
Amazing he has started with last week's winning team
23 Sep 2023 19:54:57
What on earth is going on with our team, after making some good money from transfers we now resort too loan players who other clubs don't feel good enough to be in there first team squads of 25, I also cannot see the improvement in for example manning over period, Fraserburgh over djenepo and why are we not starting with alcatraz and sulemana, as for the keeper when is he ever going to get a clean sheet, in summary RM must surely go as what we are producing is clearly not good enough
1.) 24 Sep 2023 10:04:21
Hi Norfolk Saint. The money we generated with player sales is gone, the club had already spent it in the previous 3 years and is still paying wages of those who have left, managers and players/ agents. We might have 20 mill left to spend in January but by then it will be too late. Expect more players to leave in January and possibly a couple to have their contracts bought out so they can leave. The board had one chance to get the finances/ squad sorted and have failed imo.
07 Sep 2023 18:05:00
Just a note too thank Djenepo for all his efforts as a Saints player, IMO a player who showed great potential but not really played too show his true worth.I was also disappointed to see Ballard sent out on loan ss he seems a real goalscorer with an inbuilt nose for a goal. The manager and board seem more concerned with finance rather than building a really challenging team
1.) 09 Sep 2023 10:55:53
I was always impressed with Djenepo's willingness to put in a full shift and play at both ends. His finishing was crap but he was always up for getting stuck in and he seemed to work hard at being positioned correctly. He also was up for some really great runs at defenders (although his finishing and judgement in the box left much to be desired) .
I think he would actually be decent as a LWB in a 3-5-2 if he was given enough consistent starts to grow into the position.

I agree with south hants Rich although I think we could have used five subs with it being a cup game,l wish we had started with Che Adams instead of Adam Armstrong, not sure about Broja he seems to have lost his spark at the moment, happens a lot with young players who start to believe all the publicity around them
30 Nov 2020 21:04:04
Totalling agree Hopi back to winning ways next week, also a good looking cup draw it would be great to have a decent cup run this season.

According to the press Josh Sims is back and training with the saints not sure however if he is in our premiership squad, could be an option if he is.
