Rumours are that if we sell Alex McCarthy the price will be £40 million and we will try to get Butland. News coming in that the club may look to tempt Hughes into a new contract with good wages and a marquee signing. The likes of Promes and Shaqiri, or perhaps both. We are also looking to strengthen centre-back, with Mawson, Evans and Jansson as targets.

Doesn't Macca's contract run out this summer? Can't see anyone paying 40 mil for him if that's the case.

He's been great, but if you offered us 40 mil for him and I was in charge, I'd bite your hands off!
I really don't understand this Shaqiri thing. He's maddeningly inconsistent and in my opinion the exact type of over-valued, inconsistent and diva-like player we need to move away from. We need to re-establish a strong culture. While signings like Mawson may help that, Shaqiri will not.
For me, character should be a huge part of any evaluation this summer. Not too sure how Promes fits with that tbh, but I like his talent.

totally agree with the points from 123, but in any case I can't see Shaqiri as a 'Southampton' type of signing. I know they are not exactly like for like, but a signing like Promes may not be the finished article but will potentially have big sell on value.

Either Shaqiri or Promes works for me. Fantastic attacking players with Promes probably the more direct of the two.

I've read the rumor of Sisto from Celta Vigo (just paper talk), this would be to replace Boufal as we'll probably ship him back off to France. I would imagine we sign him or Promes. I'd rather go for Promes, generally based on the fact he has more experience.
Eds do you know anything about us potentially approaching these two players?

I made a comment on Southampton's Instagram page suggesting we should buy Hiring Lozano. The comment got 32 likes, and I tagged out Lozano. Do you reckon Southampton would have took notice considering it was the highest rated comment, and perhaps Chucky Lozano may have seen it since I tagged him out. What do you guys think? 32 likes? Will Southampton have took notice? And would Lozano be a good signings. Give me your thoughts fellow Saints fans.
