Im hearing that Origi is been watched by a few english clubs at the moment and that there is a keen interest in the player from three premier league clubs, Liverpool, southampton and Everton. Origi has stated that its his dream to play in the premier league, with liverpool favourite to sign him though I don't see us getting him. though i'm sure he will look at the striker postions liverpool already have and decide to join a club where he can get first team football. I hope saints snap him up looks a good player maybe even better than Lukaku with his pace and drubbling skills. I would love this signing

LogicalSaint

1.) 26 Jun 2014 15:48:10
Liverpool can't sign everybody they haven't got the cash. Of course the lure of Champions league will figure as a strong incentive but they will probably see who we sign and then buy them off us.

2.) Think he looks a great talent aswell as enner Valencia think he would be a good signing thought i'd get that in before stevo comes and says he wants ings again

3.) The third club is apparently tottenham, not saints. ;)

So according to rumours Bruno martins indis agent is flying ibto londo today to begin talks with koeman tonight about the possibility of a move to saintsfc that crazy eyed guy you know the one i'm on about!

LogicalSaint

1.) Personally I think Taggert will break through if Shaw goes, but we'll see

2.) Isn't koeman on holiday now?

3.) Martins Indi is a CB and it's supposedly been said Target is about half a season off being able to step up so if Shaw goes we'll probably need to sign someone else

4.) He has just seen him get stretchered off during the Aus vs Ned game and decided to share this dubious rumor with us. Its a great game by the way.

5.) Sorry I meant southampton reps lol! And Bruno martins can play both CB or LB. but my thinking is if the rumours are true then we will use him as a CB/LB cover. or part of koemans 5, 3, 2 formation playing Cb with fonte lovren and indi! But if rumours are to be believed the celtic defender could come aswell I think his name is dijk?

So lovren, Dijk, Lovren as back three would be good

6.) After that cahill tackle he might be out a while.

7.) Does lovren have an identical twin then logical saint :)

8.) Ahahha by the looks of what I said yeah! I menat lovren indi and dijk
that would be a very good defense

Id love Mancini at th he club! He could get the best out of osvaldo! Would be a massive gain! Plus he'd attract top players and not forgetting be able to persuade lallana and shaw this is the right club to be at.

id also like to point out that he is a very good manager! High profile like the club stated! And les reed stated in an interview yesterday that their was a stumbling block with the manager maybe the club he was at was tge only stumbling block?

even so i'm not going to get excited until the manager is announced. because its only betting odds atm butsomeone must know something in order for his odds to drop so quickly. Maybe i'm being optimistic

up the saints

LogicalSaint

1.) Logical - hasn't got a good reputation for working with youth though has he?

2.) I would agree he is a big name, but I remember when he left Man City all the players complained about his 'lack' of man management skills and they didn't want to play for him in the end. PLUS, he's not been recognized for playing youth, the complete opposite - he likes to spend! I'll leave it up to Les and the Board, they know best but I just don't think it'll be Mancini - we also couldn't afford him! (He was on more than 5 times what we pay at Man City)

3.) For me, I just don't see how Mancini fits in to the 'Southampton Way' that Reed and Krueger keep preaching about. At no point during his time at Inter or City did he give youth a chance or significantly developed any young players. In addition he known for being tactically astute but in a results focussed way, at times sacrificing playing style or entertainment for a result. He's been successful yes, but with big budgets and big name international players. Top that off with an enormous wage demand following spells at City and Galatasaray, and you've got yourself a number of reasons why appointing him would completely contradict a lot of what the board have been saying.

4.) 11 Jun 2014 16:48:10
I want Koeman he is made for it

5.) I don't think Mancini is well suited to us but, it makes a hell of a statement if we get someone of Mancini's quality, this will attract players and will no doubt show our own players that we want to be in the Champions league, although I'd prefer Koeman as I think he is better suited to us, but I wouldn't be 100% sure about players staying if he came

{Ed001's Note - you might find it wouldn't go down well with the players. Certainly one player whose team was linked to him, said that the whole team were really unhappy with the idea of his appointment. They even went so far as to speak to the board and ask for them to look elsewhere. The club didn't appoint him but I have no idea if that was the cause of him not moving there or if it was his huge wage demands, but certainly a number of players do not like Mancini at all. Apparently he is very abrasive to deal with and disliked by the vast majority of people he has worked with. I would worry that appointing him would see more of an issue in seasons to come.}

6.) Mancini would be an awful appointment can't stand him it wouldn't be the southampton way it would be the Mancini way, all about him piss poor man management skills no way would he bring the youth though and we would be in a lot of debt by the time he gets sacked, no thanks! need koeman asap so he can sit down with the transfer request brigade, which soon is gona be the whole team! come on saints sort it out

7.) Can't see Mancini coming to much of a risk in my eyes, still like to see Claude Puel come in or Tuchel

8.) The odds for Mancini have come down yes much like magath, Ranieri and others in recent times. Only down to the fact he left his club.

9.) Greg, who do you think, if you were a betting man, would be our next manager, and where do you see saints in 5 years?

10.) Hi Saintsmiff. I am a betting man and from noise from st Mary's I back koeman very early. Only £10 but I knew Adkins was going long before he did and had a bet on the sack race. Didn't win though as someone got sacked in between. I honestly believe in 5 years we could be battling top 6. As long as the academy keeps producing. KL and her team have a view to pay off the debt and training conplex with a handful of sales this summer (lallana and shaw for sure) and use tv money to build (we could get a player of lallana quality for 20 million at a younger age) and from then on sell one player a season who excels either as profit or from academy to further enhance our youth set up and sign players. Shirt term will be painful but there is a good sustainable plan going forward. All the best.

11.) So ED has lovren handed in a request? I hope not but if he has I hope we can convince him to stay, any closer to new manager?

{Ed002's Note - It would not be out of the question for Lovren to move on this summer and with Southampton showing an interest in Caulker the club are likely expecting offers. Interest is there from Roma and Liverpool and even Barcelona may be keeping a watching brief. Liverpool had a verbal offer rejected as being far too low for the player. Spurs are looking for two centre backs and will, with their new manager, also look to Lovren.}

12.) I would be disapointed if he choose spurs after the "I want champions league football"

13.) Thanks Greg, I hope that is the way the club is heading. Athletico Madrid do it and look where they are now. Saints have to look long term.

So also hearing if poch stays he is targetting leandro damiao. he was targetted last summer but didn't want to leave so we got osvaldo but that didn't work out so damiao is still a target. Only something heard going around so thought i'd share what I heard

LogicalSaint

1.) Leandro Damiao has rather recently joined Santos (when I say recently I mean December but he signed a 5 year deal so unlikely to move this summer). Sorry but whoever created that one was having you on. Thanks for sharing none the less.

2.) Leandro has had problems settling in there due to the fans not taking to him as he played for a rival. So completely beyond the realms of possibility.

3.) I'd prefer Ings or lukaku Coyr. Keep poch and players and sign some decent players

4.) 18 May 2014 20:51:45
So also hearing if poch stays test

14 May 2014 18:53:37
Rumours flying around! Today that poch has seen the contract offered by saints and is happy with it.
Fingers crosses

LogicalSaint

1.) Where are these rumours flying around because I haven't heard any

2.) You haven't been looking up at the sky enough St hank.

3.) Shope so and I just hope its sorted soon

According to rumours, we had 25m in the first place but now with the 30m for shaw and the 25m for lallan obv minus the 5-6m to bournemouth, saints will be handed a massive 7m ;) nah only messing 70m according to sources and reports

Can I hide my head in the sand until the end of the summer transfer window had enough of all the negative news from the newspapers whp claim saints have to sell everyone. One good bit of newsis then made into something negative.

Ok I just want to sort this out. nobody is going to leave, the players are all really close and can see! Where the club is going! Also why would we be losing half are god damn team I mean you have to be deluded to believe that? Alright maybe one or two players will leave but not are whole team I mean cmon? What team in history has had a fire sale that serious when in a good postion in the premier league. the 27 million debt, can be payed off with the 79.6 million we got I fullt expect poch to stay when I new plan is put in place that is all he is waiting for like he said! And the club our club people if you hadntbalready forgot has come out and said no players that poch wants to keep will be sold this transfer window, LR said this for crying out loud! Do you really expect a mass exodus of players? I mean why would lallana get us to prem then say "id like to be next le tiss" and leave, lovren one season then leaves? Even though he has first tean football? Cork, spider, jayrod, shaw, chambers, that's the corr of our the core of our team my guess is you all need to realise saints have said what they need to and ED you don't sound like a saints fan sorry just saying, we spent every year 30 million plus its not out of the question for it to happen. And its not unlikely that poch has been offered a new contract. All these papers talking have literally no proof or written evidence or statement that says poch wants to leave or is going to leave all they have is that he has the same agent as gareth bale? Big whoop? Many footballers will have him aa an agent? Does that mean they are all joining spurs? And another thing why on earth would he join a club who continually sack mangers? And give up his safe spot at southampton because we are a so called smaller club. us fans have been arguing tgat we can get top six now your in panick mode and saying we are small. c'mon let's be honest nobody will go and i'm god damn sure of it sorry its so long but its getting stupid now

LogicalSaint

1.) Lol.
Calm down Logical Saint and take a breath.

My belief is similar you yours. I have however heard that the Poch's contract is done in principle.

2.) I agree LogicalSaints, I'm getting annoyed with it too! I agree though and posted something similar recently and I hope that's true St Christopher, would be a massive relief!

3.) Whilst I agree with the sentiment I don't think it's as simple as that Logical. I've said repeatedly there is no precedent of a 'firesale' at a club that is not in relegation and do not believe it will occur here. The finances do not work quite as simply as you have put here. That being said I do think we are in a deceptively strong position financially as we have relative financial independence and the capacity to be sustainable in the very near future. Some players will go, perhaps two at a stretch. If I were a betting man I'd put my money on Shaw and Schneiderlin to leave. Much depends on the position of the manager. Not so much Pochettino but what it signifies; if Poch leaves it was because of a lack of ambition from the club, the players will know this and that will go a long way to determining their desire to stay at the club. If Poch stays then a manager who they love playing under and a clear intent to push on from our current position is shown, this will help push those players who were on the fence back onto the Southampton side.

It's not a case of Poch v no Poch. It's just a question of 'so what next?' Whether or not Poch stays is just the shape that answer will come in.

so I been looking at a lot of strikers this season, as I knew we would need one this summer, because I got a feeling a few games into the season Osvaldo just wasn't going todo well us. Immobile and a right winger who caught my eye was Cerci both players are from serie a but both quality

LogicalSaint

1.) Both are quality, would be delighted if they signed!

26 Apr 2014 16:19:55
I feel that this summer Ramirez will go to a club in Italy, we will then move for a right winger. Rodrigo from Benfica would be a great signing as can be striker or a right winger.
Osvaldo will go
we then need a gk, cb, and striker.
Les Reed said that the players we want have been decided and who we will sell is probably decided. in players will be sold its more than likely going to be Ramirez and Osvaldo going along with players that are no longer needed guly and others

LogicalSaint

1.) Les reed said that the club have targets and nothing was mentioned about decisions of selling players, the word 'probably' was mentioned in relation to us keeping our players though.

2.) The problem with Rodrigo is his complex ownership rights. Meriton Capital Limited bought the rights to him in January (?) for 30 million euros. He's more then likely to move on in the summer as the private company will have only brought him for transfer rights, so they'll only sell on for a profit. Zenit have been linked as well. All in all he'd be far to expensive for what he is.

3.) Les Reed said 'Any enquiries we get will probably be met with a ‘no – not for sale' This is fair enough as some players we will be selling (hooiveld, Ramirez Osvaldo) plus every player can possibly be sold if the offer is silly money, eg 40 mill plus add ons for Shaw or whatever but I can't see that happening. He can't state promises that could possibly be broken as he's said he is going to be dealing with transfers. Sales are on him.

4.) I'd like to keep Ramirez, I think he has shown signs that he has adapted to the league, and seems to play well whenever he plays for us at the mo, just needs a good run in the team IMO, he seems as more as a part of the team rather than an individual now as well if you look at the celebrations, I think he could become a key part of our team

5.) I think Gaston wants to go back to Italy - he hasn't even changed his Italian plates on his Mustang!
