Rumours.
GK: Butland - Stoke (£3M? + Gunn)
RB:?
MID: McKennie - Shalke (£20M+)
MID: Longstaff - NUFC (Free)
ATT: Welbeck - Watford (£5.5M)
Wow, if they all happen, looks great.

Butland. I don't think he's much of an upgrade on Gunn.
Longstaff. Looks like he's signing a long term contract at Newcastle.
Wellbeck. Too old and injury prone. Wages also a factor.
Mckennie. This would be a good signing but I'm not sure about £20M for him.

We already have three unreliable English keepers - no good swapping one for another! Would have loved Butland a few seasons ago but having just survived relegation with Stoke I don’t think he’s really a step up on AM who’s done okay.
Can’t see any happening in all honesty.

Honestly think we should just get Henderson from UTD if it seems he won't be needed there and give $10million+Gunn.

Gunn is a good keeper but lacks confidence. He is young and has time on his hands. Play him in the cup comps and he will eventually be a great asset for us I am sure. Its a patience game.

With regards goalkeepers retained the big’yen Forster ought to be the one we move along. However with his current huge wages contract it appears he’s standing firm (whilst he has every right to do) he maybe risks his future by not considering a salary cut to promote a transfer to a half decent club. If he chooses to sit on his contract until expiry (probably benched for most times) over his love to be playing football he may well end playing Southern League or similar. Gosh how things changed From back in the day when Saints players wage was 20 pounds a week and subsidised in Summer with aBakers round or similar!

Its glaring to see that Jones doesn't have a style/gameplan. How many different formations have we experienced over the last few months?
