What are other fans thoughts on how this season should end if the lockdown goes on much longer? I don't think that its feasible to play all the games left in as little as 4 weeks so what are the options? Hope everyone is well and stay safe.

Null and void.

I’d hope that it would be safe to play behind closed doors in 6-8 weeks with normality returning in July time hopefully. Then use up the summer to finish things off and make June 30 (end of season) into August 31 to get everything done.

There were about 10 weeks of the season left so ten weeks in hand is mid-June which is two months away so that hopefully fits into line. I don’t think you can null a season so late through, nor can you end it now as is with Bournemouth being relegated by one goal and still having to play much kinder fixtures than teams above them. Play league games on Saturdays and sundays, cup games Tuesday and Europe Wednesday/ Thursday with the odd midweek off to allow teams to catch up.

If anyone moans of fatigue I’d like to point them to the three month break and thousands of deaths around them while they’ve earned about £1m doing nothing except post on instagram and Twitter.

Arrange for the ‘new’ season to start late September and the transfer window to end around then as well. Playing midweeks, skipping some international breaks in the rest of 2020 bar the play offs and allowing postponements for those teams affected, and I reckon the season could end late-May in time for the Euros.

Of course this doesn’t matter right now, I’m just spitballing for sake of looking ahead to brighter times. When it is safe to do so it would be nice to have sport to distract ourselves from the real world again, but for the time being safety and survival are all of our priorities.

Kudos to SFC. As a very long term Southampton Football Club supporter it makes me very proud that the Coach, Players and Hierachy have quickly demonstrated to the EPL that they remain a ‘CLUB’ with the true meaning in respect to salary deferments. Stay Safe Everybody.

Even though it is stated that the deferals are for 10% that should be plenty to cover all the non playing staff. Bournemouth have already sent my nephew home on furlough as a junior groundskeeper. Stewards r on what is essentially 0hrs contracts so with the board, coaching and playing staff taking cuts should easily cover those who are non playing staff.
