I've just seen some stats that said that Saints are 5th in the list of chances created/ strikes at goal this season. The top 4 are the top 4 teams in the premiership. That either shows that our strikers are not up to scratch or that every keeper that plays against us plays the game of his life.

My theory: During the week, our Strikers train against the immobile Fraser Forster. Every shot they take in the week goes in with ease. On Saturday's they play against decent GK's and all their tame shots that they were scoring in the week can't find the net against all the decent Prem GK's.

{Ed001's Note - harsh but fair. Though you have to remember you have Shane Long and Nathan Redmond taking a large proportion of the shots - I doubt they hit the target in training either.}

Honestly, Ed what are your thoughts on both players you've mentioned? Are they Prem quality? Do they bring anything to our squad? I know everyone loves Shane Long because of his tireless work, but does that actually do anything to improve the squad on match days?

{Ed001's Note - I think neither are good enough as even squad fillers. Long in particular is just pointless. He does not even add what someone like Giroud does in terms of set up play. All he does is run around in the wrong places like a headless chicken. The very least I expect of a player is for them to work hard, so, when the only thing you can say of a player is that he works hard, I would say he is clearly not good enough.

As for Redmond, he lacks intelligence. He doesn't have the right attitude either, he does not listen to coaches and instructions well as he thinks he knows better. There is the potential there but there is little chance of him realising it while he is with Saints. He needs to be taken down a peg or three.}
