In reply to Saint 72 you proved my point. Happy with the board . Yes you finished several seasons in a higher position each time My point is where would you have finished if YOUR BOARD hadn't continuously cashed in .

We'd have still probably lost the players as we won't pay the ridiculous wages some clubs offer! It's not about the board 'cashing in' it's about the board wanting to run the club under financial stability! What will happen when your owner gets bored of his toy football club and jumps ship? Well we've been there and got the T-shirt and I think it's pretty safe to say non of the Saints fans want to be running around league 1 again. If KL decides to sell the club, she'll be selling it with some sort of financial security and a stable future. let's not kid around now you got Koeman because we couldn't agree on a contract renewal, we wanted a commitment he didn't want that as he could then leave for a bigger club easier next season. Well enjoy him this season because when Barcelona or Arsenal come up he won't be sticking around!

You think we should send abuse towards our board? I have to ask you Why? Every year players have left for more wages and every year we have improved, banked money and developed another player we can sell for twice the cost the following season (with the exception of red card friendly Wanyama) . In terms of business I'd kinda call this a HUGE success over the past few years, let's not forget only a few years ago we were in league 1, we'd be day dreaming to think we could be making champions league each year right now, but keep developing the way we have an it would become a plausible dream. Take Everton though you spend £20+m on Lukaku and how well have you done since (well this is awkward) . I'd suggest you worry about your team and board and we'll continue to support ours as we see fit :)

WE MARCH ON!

Thanks for responding Gary. Cashing in as you call it, is how the board work. I wouldn't really call it that but if that's peoples opinion of our club, then so be it. If you had gone into administration before Mr. Kenwright saved you from doing so, then maybe you would have a better understanding of why the club do it this way. These were dark days for our club and not days we want repeated ever again. We were a gnats cock away from going out of business completely. When Marcus Liebherr saved us and I mean save us, his plan was to make the club self sufficient while still being a force to be reckoned with on the field. His plan is bearing fruit. Many Saints fans may disagree with me, but in hindsight, and what a wonderful thing that is by the way, going into administration was quite possibly the best thing that ever happened to us. We rebuilt the club from top to bottom.
Your argument about us having no ambition doesn't stack up when we have just qualified for Europe two seasons on the bounce - don't understand where you're coming from. You can stand from the rooftops and scream about us having no ambition all you want, but why do you think the big clubs want to buy our players all the time? I'll tell you shall I! Because they're bloody good players and they play in a bloody good team. That's why. All the players we bought in have been sold for a profit but not really many of them have really thrived at other clubs. Can't believe you got £47 million for Stones by the way - you're in serious danger of being sued by City under the trade descriptions act or putting in plain English selling dodgy goods :-) I like Everton, always have even though you broke my heart in the 1984 FA cup semi - bastards :-) but it seems to me you have no plan. You may have all that money to spend but if you have no plan it's pointless having it because footballers are mercenaries and are the most selfish creatures on the planet. If for example you get relegated, which you won't obviously, and you have players on obscene wages, do you think they give a sh*t about Everton football club - no they do not. They'll be looking for the door mate and their next big contract. We know because we've been there! So maybe you'll understand why we air on the side of caution or maybe you still won't. I don't care whether you do or don't but just pray what happened to us never happens to Everton.

What if we kept the squad together and had a poor season?

What if the turnover of players is the reason the level of performance where it is?

What if only keeping players and bringing in players who have the passion and desire to play for the club is the reason behind the form of the last few seasons?

What if this is the way most, if not all clubs, should be run?

Just a point but the majority of the players that we "cashed In" on went to Liverhampton. Did we or did we not finish above them last year?
Its about selling players at the right price and more importantly at the right time and improving the squad which is what we keep doing in the majority of positions.
