I'm reading this morning (SSNews) that we're close to selling Tadic to Ajax for £18m and purchasing Mohamed Elyounoussi for approximately £16m. I'm sure that there will be fans that disagree, but this is yet another example of the hierarchy at Saints managing the transfer activity of the club in the right way! 4 years service from Tadic, then make a decent profit to finance his long-term replacement - Perfect scenario. I'm confident that with transfer decisions such as these being seen season after season, our club is in good hands for the long-term.

Mohamed Elyounoussi apparently flying into Southampton either tonight or tomorrow morning for his medical and to complete his move to the club.

If that scenario happens, Tadic for Elyounoussi, it's a good piece of business. Is this going to happen, Eds?

I just hope he shows up more often than tadic. I've been a big critic of him, but I appreciate his services and no one can deny his contribution with winning goals against Arsenal, United, and a brace against bournemouth that saved us from relegation. At 29 he's not going to improve a lot and after four seasons we cannot wait any longer for him to find his rhythm. But at around 10mil spent on him I'd say he's far from a flop despite his lack of consistency. He's going to go back to a league where he ran the show some 5 years ago so good luck to him and add to that we made a profit on him. Good business all around, especially if Elyounessi proves he's more consistent and doesn't lack in ability.

Definitely wouldn't be fair to call Tadic a flop. He's been a good servant to the club and I wish him well. It's time for him to move on though.

I think he'll do well at Ajax. He'll have more time on the ball in the Eredivisie, which is what he needs. To me, he's just not a player that's well suited to the pace of the premier league. Saw this all last season; too slow, too many touches, and loses the ball or delays a counter. He was fine as a winger in a team that looked to get the ball into Pelle early, but he's not cut out for the CAM role he's been playing the last few years.

Elyonou whatever his name is, seems like the exact right sort of player we need from what I've read. Pace, skill and end product. Hopefully he can be the player we all wanted Boufal to be.

I heard that Ajax are paying £10M for Tadic.

I've read varying reports from £15m to £18m, but to be fair - We've had 4 good years of service, and he's now at an age where many clubs could be scared off of spending big; so if it is £10m then i'd be happy with that (remembering that we only paid £10.4m for him originally)

Market is completely different now though Ben. Sure he's 4 years older, but then I think it's fair to say that the value of a player has pretty much doubled across the board.

I'd say £12-15m is a fair price, so anything above that is great. 18 is what I heard.
