I've read today we are interested in Schneiderlin, hope we can get him back I loved watching him play football. Any truth in this Ed's or just paper talk?

{Ed001's Note - I don't know sorry.}

Can't see it myself rich. Schneiderlin seems to have regressed since he left but vastly increased his wages. add to that the fact we are overloaded with similar central midfielders already I don't see us in for him. Particularly when we need creativity in the midfield, pace up top, and solidity at the back from our summer purchases.

Completely agree with everything Milky said. Loved him when he was here, but we have no need for him now. I suppose if we were to lose Lemina, as has been vaguely rumoured, then I might be a bit more open to it, but even then I'd need some convincing.

I agree Saints 123. I hope we don't lose Lemina as I think that he'll show how good he is next season. I feel that we need 3 new additions to the team and for sparky to take us back to fast attacking football like we played under Koeman. Hoping for a top ten finish next year.

Agreed on Lemina. He's a class above. If we let him get settled in the team with a clear and consistent role, he'll show his true quality. Personally not convinced Hughes is the man to get this out of him (he had a lot of talented players at Stoke and never really made them stars - see Shaqiri, Arnautovic, Bojan, Zouma, Jese and probably more that I've forgotten), but oh well Hughes is the man we got, so please prove me wrong!

The sad thing is, you can already tell that Lemina has bigger things in his future than the Saints. With a bit of refining he is Champs League quality.

I think lemina is class but he will be over looked by clubs because of our season last year, rightly so to be honest. We held the ball did nothing with if conceded then had no answer. The players are to blame to some degree, but I think the tactics were more to blame. You have to use players strengths and mp did not do that. I do rate Hughes and I kind of feel like he had a squad of boufals at Stoke. They thought they were bigger than they were without proving it. I'd like to see Boufal prove himself and work for his spot in the team because he has potential but we also need players who want to work for the team. Ward prose needs to learn how to bully in the middle of the park. His passing is unreal but unfortunately doesn't have enough to his game other than this. Great potential but isn't a premiership player without strength in the tackle in my opinion. Would like to hear others opinion on this?

sfcphill . couldn't agree more . a modern day midfielder should have everything in his locker. they should all be able to do their defensive duties along with their natural game, it doesn't take much to ask a player to track back and make it difficult for their oppenent. they might not be the best tackler, but at least hustle them and work hard!
